If I were the NHL I would let them have an exception. Kivlenieks' passing was tragic and there was nothing the Blue Jackets could do about it. Rest in piece Matiss.

They're slowly becoming the epitomy of mediocrity in this league. which is a shame since CGY is probably my favorite Canadian team.


My problem with that is we just brought Sutter out of retirement and he is a win now coach. And if he leaves that will be Glen Gluzten, Bill Peters, Geoff Ward and Daryll Sutter done within 3-4 years. How will that look for the organization. I think we have to compete untill Sutter's contract is up and see how they are doing then

Waste of time and value of players imo. Hiring Sutter was a mistake in general. Think it was a hasty decision from Treliving, trying to do something a bit splashy to save his job.

If Sutter can't adapt to a role with developing team, he isn't worth his reputation.

If what I have read is true about Toronto being interested in Jones potential addition in the package I guess

Doesnt Cam Johnson meet the exposure requirement anyway? I dont think there are games played requirements for goalies they just need to have a contract for 21-22 or be an RFA this summer

I dunno whether that rule differs with goalies, but at the very least they don't have a goalie under contract for 2021-22 other than Korpi at the moment.

It’s RFA or under contract for goalies. Exposure requirements for forwards or D are based on games played and not being a UFA.

So apparently Poile wants to make a deal with Seattle to protect some players. Which is interesting. The worst they could lose is Grimaldi or Sissons. Unless they actually intend to protect Johansen and Duchene, which means they could lose Jarnkrok/Trenin and Kunin.

For the sake of Preds fans I hope they don’t protect Duchene/Johansen, and Poile is only talking about giving up a mid-round pick to keep Grimaldi.

Poile is literally one of the worst GMs in the league, he didn't deal Ekholm, letting his value drop a bit because of the term left (if he traded him at the 2021 TDL the team that would've gotten him would've had one season and more on his bargain of a deal but now he only has one season left), he didn't move Granlund for a pick/prospect or two

Preds need to overhaul everything and he doesn't seem to want to do that

Sabres plan on building around Dahlin, Cozens, and Mittelstadt according to GM Kevyn Adams. Both Eichel and Reinhart weren't mentioned here. Hopefully we can see the first dice fall soon to kick off the offseason.

So how long we think this rebuild is gonna last. I say 5 years minimum.

Lets see if its a disaster like their last 2.

Worse for sure. Hopefully they get another younger piece to build around in a package for someone like Eichel or Reinhart.
