So it indicates here that the Quinn contract ends at RFA but I feel like it doesn't as he'll be over 27 and will have accrued more than 7 'service years'

Every now & then this superb site makes mistakes

If so then he just gets an 8x7.5 ✅

Ottawa says no, Branstrom is better than Podkolzin. then Colin white on top along with, Logan brown too, very lopsided no for the sens

I think Vancouver would say no, but they probably should accept because Brannstrom has star potential

Even if you consider Podkolzin and Brannstrom a wash I'd still take White and Brown over MacEwen and a couple late picks

Tryamkin's rights expire after this year, so he holds no trade value. Despite Schmidt having a down year, I think Francis would take him if we exposed him, depending on his strategy. With Stecher, let it go. Detroit fans are gonna rightfully rip you for that trade too.

I should change my username to "let the legal process with virtanen finish before moving him"

I think if I'm Ottawa, I'd rather have Brannstrom than Podkolzin, and Colin White>>> the rest of the deal and it isn't close.

I think Brannstrom has been a whipping boy for some people because of who he was traded for, but he's progressing well, and I think he's ready to take that next step into becoming a really strong offensive number 3 Dman. I think Ottawa gets more value betting on Brannstrom than they do from Podkolzin.

From a Vancouver perspective, I think they really value the skillset a guy like Podkolzin brings, and would prefer him to a guy like Brannstrom. I also think where they are financially, they probably shouldn't be looking to move out a top 9 ready scoring winger on an ELC. Also with the whole Virtanen thing, I imagine his contract will simply be terminated this offseason. If that's not possible, a buyout is basically nothing because he's under 26. It's 50k next year and 500k the year after.

Even without that whole mess, I doubt anyone would have been that interested in Virtanen. He isn't good. Probably best for Vancouver to just quietly move on this summer. Either by contract termination or buyout, I don't think Vancouver will miss him.

I can't see Detroit trading Stecher well maybe at the TDL depending on other factors.

Yep, either one, good riddance. I'd prefer if the league never touched him again because I do feel some of his issues are related to being at home, and if he ever got his act together he could be useful. We all have a sore spot with the whole Cam Neely situation. Virtanen is fast and has a great shot but unfortunately lacks any sort of substance between the ears and plays incredibly soft (especially in terms of defensive contributions) for his size.

There are skills there, but at the NHL level there was no consistency and there was no signs of him being able to adapt his game to fit a different situation. He'll probably go overseas and make a boatload of money playing against weaker competition.

Honestly, not just Detroit saying no, but probably Stetcher, Vancouver wouldn't pay $1.7 per for him, but would pay $2m and a M-NTC for Jordie Benn
