TBH Flames dont really need Marchand. And IMO Hanifin is only available for a better LDman

I think they're still good, as long as Bergeron and Marchand keep producing like old maniacs and Rask keeps being an elite for them they got a chance I think. Add a good LHD and a decent backup and they still going to contend next year.

The Calgary trade would be up there as one of the worst in NHL history.

You gotta think CGY accepts even tho hes a left shot. What would it take for the islanders to get him.

We don't really need him TBH. Yes he is good but not at the price of one of out best dmen. Also Gaudreau Tkachuk Mangiapane Dube can all play top 6 LW. Tkachuk Lindholm can play RW. We have no one to replace Hanifin with. I doubt this happens

No one cares about what way anyone shoots when you’re getting one of the best wingers in the league. Marchand is going to play his entire career in Boston though.

Ya think? The best LW in the game for a underperforming D who is actually not very good.

It won't happen because Hanafin isn't good and Marchand is a HOF'er.
Marchand is substantially better than everyone else on your team.

Youre crazy but no problem. Islanders will be happy to take him.

Flames need for Hanifin is way higher tbh, I would happily pay something else for BM though. Hanifin, Lindholm, and Mangiapane are just simply not available, probably Tkachuk too

If you are really lucky they'll take Barzal for Mangiapone.

What would we give? Im assuming Tkachuk would be #2 on there list but I don't think we should trade Tkachuk for an basically older less physical version of him

Well he's realistically not gonna be traded, if its for Marchand specifically Tkachuk is not available though as Flames should only consider moving him for a legitimate 1C

MTL would take Marchand
Draws Penalties , Great on PP and a Pest.

Plus i saw a glimpse of Marchand-Gallagher training at the WC in 2015 i believe it was.
They just had so much chemistry and would be so hard to play against with Danault in the middle

Wouldnt give up the farm for him
Picks , Prospect but we cant afford to move much of our Roster outside Drouin who could retire or come back who knows.

Sadly we're not in a position to over pay for him even though he'd fit our team perfect and we could make the cap work

Are you serious right now?
Flip him then. He’s either the best, or the second best LW in the national hockey league.

Strictly speaking, if this exact trade was offered, the Flames obviously accept, and then trade one of Marchand/Tkachuk/Gaudreau for a better LD than Hanifin while laughing about how badly they ripped off the Bruins. But I think everyone realizes this isn’t fair value for Boston, and thus Calgary would be adding, at which point it doesn’t make sense. Framing it as trading Hanifin (our top pair LD on a left side with minimal depth below him until the younger guys develop) in a trade for a left shot winger makes no sense if the deal is actually fair and not a huge win for Calgary, which is where I think the other Flames fans are coming from. If it was a fair trade based around Hanifin for Marchand (with Calgary adding significantly of course) Calgary should avoid that, as it weakens a potential weak point to strengthen their best area. Not that Marchand should be dealt anyway lol
