Marat and a 1st for Strome is terribly lopsided. We wouldn’t give either piece for Strome 1-1, let alone both.

Vancouver matches, and the Avs aren’t giving up a first, (nobody is, as a matter of fact.) For that monster Kreider contract with the flat cap.

Avs certainly don't that additional cap hit, or Kreider for what six more years., so you're not getting that cap relief. You're not getting that return for Strome

Raise the offer sheet number to a $12.5m, which could close the route to Hughes, solely. With a 10.2c holding on Hughes, the Canucks would have to decide on Hughes or Petterson. A higher offer sheet will hold Benning to need to make a careful choice:

1. Sign a newly high-priced elite center, and short-change his controllable defenseman, which could lead to future strife.

2. Choose the offensive-minded defenseman to pay the big bucks to, avoiding a horrible future market issue. Lose the elite center and slide Miller behind Horvat.

You know the cap exists for the avs, at least try to be cap compliant for other teams

Hughes is ineligible to be offer sheeted so you're premise of putting Vancouver in a position they can't match can't happen.

You’re trying to clear cap space for the future when you’re at risk of getting offer sheeted yourself but the returns you’re expecting for kreider and strome are wildly off.
