You want Columbus to trade a likely top 5 pick in a good draft for Bonino?

Hertl is more of a late first rounder type rental, not a 1st ++ rental.

Could get better value for Hertl and definitely won’t be getting that much for Simek and Bonino (but especially Bonino)

Why would a rebuilding CBJ team trade a first (that's likely to be a very high first in a loaded draft) for Bonino? I don't think Bonino fetches a first from most teams, def not CBJ or a rebuilding team.

I think CBJ is really underrated and can be a fringe playoff team again. definitely not at the bottom of the league.

I could see Bonino going to Tampa half retained tbh.

Even if that happens were not trading a first for him lol. And also I don’t see it happening. We’re not a bottom 6 center away. We’re 2 top 6 forwards away minimum.

I think they did an outstanding job this offseason given the hand they were dealt. They'll be tough to play against but in the Metro they'd be hard pressed to finish outside of last..Isles, Caps, Pens, Canes are all legitimate contenders, Flyers & Rags will be vying to knock one of them out for a spot, Devils are much improved and will be a sneaky team to snake a spot. In the Pacific I think the Jackets could try to contend for that last spot but I can't see it in the metro.

Really absurd overpays for Simek and Bonino, and a huge underpay on Hertl.

Boston's future first line center when Bergeron is gone, hertl is way better then Coyle

Cool. Buuuut he’s a rental.

He’s also nowhere close to a first line center. He’s a player, that outside of one outlier season has played at roughly a 45 point per 82 game pace. That’s closer to a third line center than a first line center. Fine player. Solid rental for a first round pick. Not this.

Hertl had 74 points in 2018-2019 and this season he had 43 points in 50 games. he is defiantly a first liner. not to mention he would right off the mark have chemistry with pasta because they both are from the Czech Rep. he is also the type of player to take a cap hit for the sake of the team. Boston would be getting Hertl at a bargain at that price

If he’s a first line center, he’s a first line center for a really really really bad NHL team. Ohhhhhh he would have chemistry with pastrnak because they’re from the same country? That’s a preposterous assumption.

Hertl has one 50 point season in his NHL career. He would be a solid mid level 2nd line center option for the bruins. Want a first round pick? Probably a done deal. Not a first ++

A solid 1C who SJ has no reason to move unless they’re getting good value. If teams want him they better pony up.

Over the last 5 seasons he’s 47th in points among centers. 42nd in even strength points. 42nd in points per game. 38th in points per 60. There are a lot of guys ahead of him that no one would consider a top line center. I get there’s more to it than points, but when you’re talking about a solid top line guy, there’s gotta be some offensive production there. With hertl, it’s inconsistent at absolute best.

Yes, you can disagree all you want with reality. Doesn’t change facts. There’s nothing subjective there.

Columbus isn’t trading a likely top 5 pick for Bonino. You can think they’ll be good all you want, but center isn’t even the biggest hole on the team anymore, it’s finding a number 2 RHD to play with Werenski, and no it’s not Boqvist.

Reality doesn't change the fact that over the past three years he is 22nd in points per game among centers, and that's not even considering the fact that he is one of the top centers defensively.

In fact, there are only 4 centers above him on that list with better defensive metrics (EV DEF WAR) over the past three years.

In reality where everyone but you is living. You’re objectively incorrect.

If you actually listened to what we’re saying instead of cherry-picking stats that are only useful to backup your narrative you’d see where we’re coming from. But I’ve never seen you concede on a point or admit any sort of fault, so there’s no reason for me to try to convince you of anything at this point.
