Description
Just tried to force the Preds to spend to the cap to see what the team could look like. Not necessarily realistic, I know. I just wanted to make trades and spend money where I could to try and assemble a better version of the Preds roster, and maybe one that could make a playoff run.

OTT matches that.

EDM doesn't consider that.

Don't see MIN or NSH doing that deal.

The rest are fine, but I'd hold off on trading Trenin.

I like Trenin Leafs would require making moves 2 accommodate... why would thety let him go for a 4rth?

In real life I know Ottawa would match it, just wanted to see it. I considered either 2 second rounders or a 2nd and a 3rd to EDM, but I wasn't sure. The MIN deal was purely for fun but I know it would never happen. I like Trenin, I just brought in more than enough physicality that I opted to go get some goal scorers instead! Thanks for the feedback! This is only like the second one of these I have ever done.

I more so banked on Leafs having an injury or two, because every team always does. So since I brought in more experienced and skilled physical players I felt that I could let Trenin go to recoop a draft pick.

Like others have said here, OTT matches that without thinking about it.

Instead of selling low on Trenin, I'd rather keep him and not make the Puljujärvi trade. Can't see EDM giving up on him anyway.

Big overpay going to MIN for two years of Dumba, and a guy who asked to be traded out of NSH.

No worries! I always love seeing NSH posts on here -- all in good fun!

For what it's worth, Trenin would look great in TOR -- but there just isn't any reason for NSH to trade him, and he's worth more than a 4th anyway. And I wouldn't mind having Fiala back, but that ship has sailed.

Ottawa matches in a heartbeat

Tampa accepts

Toronto takes that and runs

Edmonton doesn't consider that at all

Nashville declines the Minny trade

Instead of doing so many outlandish and bold deals I was going to try to rebuild, but I don't have it in me to trade Fil or Ekholm. I love them too much.

Oilers ranks a top 10 team by most models and certainly 1 or 2 in the pacific AKA bubble team. Laughable.

Welcome to CF

To be fair Nashville have been more or less spending the cap since ownership stabilized in 2015 they're often a few M $ shy but effectively there

As a NSH fan myself it's been very comforting

Nothing against trenin but leafs have depth forwards falling out their ass right now. No room for him.

What?

Their goaltending is very likely bottom 5 this year

Their D core is average at best

McDavid scoring at Gretzky in his late 20s levels again is unlikely but hey he defies comprehension so maybe- but at any rate the F core may not be elite

That leaves them at about league average overall

As a 98 birthday he has too much potential

To allocate him as just a depth F

Also his RFA status keeping him controlled

He is the perfect type of asset for the Leafs

Wayne simmonds for example isn't

Reportedly Brady already turned down $8,000,000 per, So he's not taking an OS for less money. besides the NHL season opens up one week from tonight so the OS time is finished.

I could see TOR being interested in packaging one of their depth forwards like Mikheyev or Engvall with a pick for Trenin, to help them clear a little salary, but I don't see the upside for NSH to do that.

Farrance has 59 pts in his past 45 NCAA games 😳

Same age as Adam Fox when he did that 👀

Tolvanen isn't far from blue chip ultimately

Idk what we want to define blue chip as exactly

But on that contract too Tolvanen a superb asset

Minnesota would be bonkers to decline that

Tolvanen at 1.45M / RFA >> Dumba at 6M / UFA

Matt barely at 0.4 pts/g of late and barely drives play

Farrance Carrier 1st 3rd is quite nice for Fiala

Most have Farrance penciled in to the NHL asap

I guess Nashville shouldn't offer it then and everybody's happy.

Why would Toronto give up the better player with a pick. Makes no sense.

He is the same age as Engvall and had 11 points last season. I’m not buying it.

Colorado declines.

Avs are well stocked with depth forwards and also have a few prospects on the cusp, including Ranta, Kaut, and Bowers.

With so few picks in the next 2 years this would be a poor use of assets.
