I'm shocked no one outbid vegas. This is not a lot to give up to upgrade from chytil to Eichel

Chytil is a guy with a lot of skills who disappears for many games at a time, nothing is more frustrating

Krebs is very highly regarded, and was reportedly untouchable by multiple sources, if no one was offering a high caliber prospect like that, they wouldnt have a chance

Krebs trumps Kravtsov and Tuch is a much better player than Chytil. Not really the same level of pieces from the rangers side

Rangers can't really afford the cap next season...10m Eichel, and the big raises in place for Fox and Zibs.

Rich. He was 17OA in 2019 and hasn’t looked good so far this year and you yourself said he wasn’t great. Tuch is the main piece here and he is a middle 6 guy(I like him a lot). Hopefully that likely deep 1st works out to be the main piece here. This is a bad return anyway you split it unless of course JE never plays again

He was hurt in his draft year, was projected top 5, and has 5 points in 2 AHL games right now. Plus im not talking about my opinion, im talking about the consensus of NHL insiders of what NHL GMs believe

The thing here again is that that Buffalo got two guys until at least 2026 in the Vegas deal, a rebuilding team looking to turn a corner with cost certainty is crucial. That's not provided in the Rangers deal here.

I disagree on Krebs being better than Kravtsov. Sure it’s kind of hard to analyze right now since neither have seen much time in the NHL, but if Kravtsov puts it all together at the NHL level he’s easily a 35-40+ goal scorer and a 75-80 point player. Krebs to me is probably more of a 65-70 point guy if he hits his ceiling and he’ll be more of a passer than a goal scorer.

I'd love to disagree with Coga here...but just can't. Krebs was drafted as a highly regarded C prospect- but who slid in the draft due to an injury- which is seemingly he is 100% past. Post draft he has done nothing to make anyone believe he wont be a solid NHLer....no way you can compare a prospect like this to another prospect whose attitude looks like it may be his limitation to amounting to anything in the NHL.

I don't think NYR had the young center to compare with Krebs.

Would probably have had to go with Kakko/Schneider or something similar.

You are trying to value krav by saying If he puts it all together ( which he hasn’t shown any sign of doing so) will max out beyond his abilities while capping krebs with no justifying it beyond I don’t think he will be beyond this many points.

You can’t amp up one and disregard the other based on opinion projection. However the people who make a career out of scouting and ranking prospects will have krebs higher
