Dallas & (surprisingly) Carolina have fallen. The Habs remain in the top 8.

I'm kinda impressed, since Caufield should have graduated by Wheeler's standards.

Like I said before it even started, habs will be top 5. They don't have stars in the system, but the depth is insane

I can't see Cooley ahead of Wright yet. Savoie is closer to Wright imo but he's also 5'9 which means NHL scouts will disagree because size somehow still matters even if guys like Debrincat have proven teams wrong

Is there a specific reason why Chesley, Casey and Nelson dropped? Did anything change?

He has Jake Virtanen level hockey sense, I wouldn't take him in the top 15

Honestly dude, I can look at all the scouts I like to follow and all have a completely different take on this draft. I wouldn't read too much into it. But I really do respect Chris Peters and am all over this take at having Cooley #1

Chris Peters is very well respected in the hockey world. I trust his judgement. You are totally free to have yours not taking away from that.

Miro has one of the highest potentials but yeah, he shouldn't go top 15 due to his effort, consistency, defence, vision concerns and he's tends to shoot when he wants to, not when it's the right play

He's very good at what he does, I'm just stating my opinion based on what ive seen from watching him + what other prospect writers have said about him.

As far as I'm concerned, he simply can't think ahead and doesn't act ahead of the play. He only reacts and instead of thinking a few passes / seconds ahead to find the best space / passing lane, he makes rash decisions. All of that is a sign he lacks Hockey IQ. Not sure how Virtanen's scouting report looked, didn't follow the draft a lot back then. Did it sound similar?

I do respect him, but Miroshnichenko at 3 is just far too high in my opinion. I think 16 is the highest he should be at the moment.

Got any particular writers that you like / respect a lot? I usually have a hard time finding "good" scouting reports when I want to compare my initial evaluation to that of others.

2 points for Raty today against TPS. He's up to 22 points in 24 games with Jukurit. He's the one bright spot in an awful islanders prospect pool.

How many of them have their reports available for free? Not really keen on spending a lot of money on reports right now.

Twitter my good man, most post them

Edit:
I am digging FC Hockey's take on the draft currently. Kinda close to mine

Looks like you just described Jonathan Drouin lol. Perfect comparison for Miroshnichenko.

Another site to add lol. I already use THW ( when their draft profiles come out ), FC Hockey, Dobber, Draft Prospects Hockey, THN, Draft analyst ( doesn't have rankings though yet ), recruit scouting and BruinsFan35's slides for accruing info on the prospects/rankings and you can add to that McKeen/EP/McKenzie/Sportsnet and Button who I just use their rankings

As far as rankings, I normally use THN’s (mostly Ryan Kennedy I think), Bob McKenzie, and Sam Cosentino, now Corey Pronman as well because I’m subbed to the Athletic (and presumably Scott Wheeler will be making rankings too). I also use the hockey writers and dobber for scouting reports. All except the Athletic are free (the hockey news I can download the e-magazine for free from my local library lol).
