I don't really pay too much attention to top prospects (especially as a Lightning fan), but wasn't Lambert #2 like a few weeks/months ago. What happened?

Same thing that happened to Aatu Raty. They just can’t produce in Finland . It’s the opposite for a guy like Kemell who shot up the rankings and is over a PPG in Finland on the same team as Lambert too . Lambert needs a big World Juniors or he’s likely to drop even further

always found it strange that as an AC-GM, i would have drafted carter in the 2nd round and yet these directors of scouting let him fall that far... shame on these paid "professionals"

You know what’s even better? Drafting overagers in rounds 2-7 and then watch them tear it up. Example: Egor Sokolov and Dmitry Rashevsky

i don't follow - you actually think sokolov is tearing it up? I wanted Gogolev and somehow leafs snagged him instead

25pts in 35 games is pretty good for a 1st year AHL player at 20 years old IMO

First , he’s a winger, 2nd he’s Russian, 3rd he’s not a generational talent like Malkin and soon Mishkov. It’s not that Miroshnichenko isn’t really good , it’s that the others before him have pushed past him. Also the positions they play. Wright is probably 1st. Savoie and Geekie are over a point per game in the WHL. Cooley is showing amazing talent and skill. Nemec is a RD playing in Slovakia. All those guys are centres with the exception of Nemec who’s a RD . You also have Kemell who’s a winger but he’s absolutely tearing up Finland’s top league. Then Miroshnichenko and Slafkovsky are next imo

Omg lol dude

Yes. Yes. Yes. 👏

Carter Savoie had the same D-1 and D-Y NHLe as

Newhook
Jost
Kobasew

Scouting still so grounded in archaic sensibilities

NHLe alone outperforms it greatly

Rashevsky tickles my fancy. What a snag by the jets lol. Kids lighting up the KHL. Just under a PPG. 25pts in 28 games with 14 goals. He’s signed to his KHL team another year but I’m fine with that. He could jump over in 23-24 and play top 6 immediately.

There were obviously some questions about the elder, but Carter looks legit. Happy to have him in Denver.

I know trading for him in this ACGM is kind of an afterthought or quirk or whatever, but don't think Edmonton does that trade at this point. Dude has really raised his stock.

Lol that’s best case scenario. Even if he ends up just being a middle six guy I’m happy with it. He was a 5th round pick. If he becomes a kaprizov like player great.

Carter Savoie has the same D+1 and D+2 stats as Cole Caufield despite playing in a better conference. The Oilers reject this trade.

D+1
Savoie: 0.54 G/GP and 0.83 P/GP
Caufield: 0.53 G/GP and 1.00 P/GP

D+2
Savoie: 1.00 G/GP and 1.70 P/GP
Caufield: 0.97 G/GP and 1.68 P/GP

D+2 NHLe, for reference:
Savoie: 36-25-61
Caufield: 26-19-45

It's early yet and we don't know if Savoie can maintain this level of production throughout the season, but his upside is MILES higher than Formenton's. Edmonton has no reason to make this move.

There's still value to be found in Russia, it appears to be underscouted. Edmonton just picked up a guy in the 6th round who is currently 3rd in the OHL with 12 goals in 16 games.

That’s nuts. Russia is under scouted. Look at Chinakhov.
