Description
Things looking a little thin thanks to the buyouts. I still think they have a good shot and Guerin seems to know players that fit well. Some of these may be reaches, and one thing definitely could be "Why not resign Goligoski he's playing well!". That is fair, i just wonder if Goligoski gets a multiyear offer and at 36 that's risky. Pavelski is a pipe dream too but who knows.

I was going to make it a 1st and a third but I feel like almost anytime you put a 1st in a trade the comments get HEATED. If it was a 1st and a third, or maybe just a 1st and like a 4th would you still do it?

Would have to be a top 10-15 protected first I'd imagine (and would likely slide to next year, which could also be a lottery pick and I think a lot of Sens fans have PTSD after Colorado got Makar with their pick). Ottawa currently has the 3rd best lottery probability this year. I wouldn't hate a protected 1st, 3rd, and prospect for Fiala, but we really don't need Brannstrom with guys like Lambos, O'Rourke, Hunt, and Peart in the system.

I think you're confusing Cale Makar with Bowen Byram.

Ottawa is not giving away 1st round picks until we make the playoffs again.

The fiala trade is beyond bad for Minnesota. Minnesota will easily get a 1st and top c prospect from another team for fiala instead of a d who won't play on wild next year and some draft picks. Alex g is Coming back no matter what as it was reported There was a literal handshake agreement for next year, and calen addison along with Dmitry, or Dmitry along with Jon merrill will continue to be Minnesota 3rd pair next year

Alex g already has a handshake deal with wild to come back. Something Minnesota beat writer reported on. You way undervalued fiala as Minnesota is stacked on d, as well it's d prospect right now

Honestly don't know a ton about Fiala, on paper maybe the Sens take the deal with an extension in place but I'm not going to sit here and pretend I know if Fiala is a fit or if the trade is a steal haha

I like Brannstrom, and he’s more similar to Addison than the guys you mentioned. I don’t think BG would be interested in him but he would be the Goose replacement.

IMO Pavs is wearing a Wild sweater in this year’s playoffs. IDK if he comes back, but he’s the guy BG wants if I had to place a bet.

Branstrom is selling low right now because of the hate for him from our Coach for no reason, He can QB a PP, and is a great prospect. Wild would do great to get this return for Fiala.

I do think that Fiala is one of the Better options that the Sens could make a move for either during the season or in the off-season as a potential long-term linemate for Stuztle. The question is what kind of contract is he going to need to sign long-term in OTT. I would imagine that the number would end up higher than the Sens should go given the contracts they have coming.

I'm not the biggest Greenway fan, but based on value I'd say yes. I'd definitely do it if we trade Beauvillier for a defenseman.

Lambos is definitely in the same stratosphere as those two, he's just farther away from being NHL ready.

Despite that, he's still unquestionably the Suter/Goose replacement within the organization. Just like Jake Sanderson, Lambos screams to be a Ryan Suter type clone. He was one among the three I wanted the most out of last years draft class. Kent Johnson, Wallstedt, and Lambos.

I originally did a different trade for Fiala with Florida. The return was a 1st, a 3rd, and Hornqivst (possibly retained a bit). Would that be a decent return in your eyes and more likely to give a 1st than Ottawa?

I really loved the Lambos pick. Maybe not the PP QB Suter was but he’s got all that you need. I’ve gotta assume he plays in IA next year with a few call ups, then takes over Kulikov’s 3rd pair role the year after.

Don't see Leddy coming here for 5 mil. According to Russo, Goligoski had talked about the possibility of resigning for less when he signed his deal last summer. I would take Goligoski at half the price of 5 mil and basically the same type of player.

Pretty nice proposal OP

Ottawa doesn't have a late 1st so no they can't give up a first but I'd say value is pretty close there, maybe make it Brannstrom + two seconds instead. Ottawa's 2nd is top-35 right now, so kinda close to a late first, particularly in this draft

He's pretty good

I'd say this SR from sportsforecaster is actually accurate (some aren't)

SCOUTING REPORT

Is oozing in plenty of raw playmaking ability and overall puck skills. Is a slick one-on-one skater and a constant scoring threat. Competes for every puck with aplomb. Isn't very big or strong, and isn't a physical force by any stretch of the imagination, so he must add more bulk to his 5-10 frame to maximize output at the NHL level.

Long Range Potential: Gifted playmaking winger with good upside.

However I'm not 100% convinced he would fit with Stutzle, they kinda play a similar dynamic playmaking style... but an option I am thinking, once everyone is healthy :

Tkachuk - Norris - Fiala
Formenton - Stutzle - Batherson
Paul - Pinto - Brown
Crookshank - White - Watson
Gambrell

Sanford, Ennis and Tierney traded (deadline?)
