Yeah, you’re not close to best D in the league, Carlson, Fehervary, Orlov, Jensen, Schultz, TVR with or without Siegenthaler wouldn’t cut it for best D in the league

I mean much better than it is. You’re right it’s not and it wouldn’t be. My bad.

I'm pretty sure Carolina offered Dougie Hamilton 6.25 mill x 8 , I think Carolina would offer that but I don't think there's a chance Klingberg accepts it after being criminally underpaid throughout his career. He'll sign with whoever pays him most IMO

That’s why I think it’ll be hard to sell him at the deadline. Chances are that Nill will be the one to pay him the most.

Second to the oilers, I think the isles have the most out of touch writers covering the team. These are the same writers that thought Toews for two 2nds was a good trade for the isles so im not surprised they are in favor of this awful trade. Might have to become a kraken fan if this trade went down.

This season, Siegenthaler, Lindell, Heiskanen & Whitecloud stand out.

For forwards, Matthews, Bergeron, Tanev & Kämpf are at the top

The Washington Capitals traded Jonas Siegenthaler to the New Jersey Devils for a third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

The Carolina Hurricans traded Alex Nedeljkovic to the Detroit Red Wings for a third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

The Boston Bruins traded Dan Vladar to the Calgary Flames for a third-round pick in the 2022 draft.

That's some great value for only a 3rd round pick

And soon Travis Dermott joins his buddy Mcdavid in Edmonton for a ... Third round pick wink

As I made a funny prediction Holland at the deadline gonna go get Mcdavids old buddies from his junior or rookie days

So Dermott, Brown, etc.

A majority of teams who are interested in trading for Chychrun are better off trading a 2nd or 3rd rd pick for Ghostisbhere

I mean, that wouldn’t be a horrible trade, I know you’re not a big Chychrun fan though

I’d also like to point out Jones went for a 1st, great prospect, 2nd and moving down 20 spots in the 1st so Chychrun trade has a baseline

Yep, like for Toronto

According to Kyprios the ask was 1st + 2nd + Sandin + Top 9 Forward

So if thats the case this does not seem to be to far out of the park

As lets be honest Chycrun would do so much better on another team.

Like that -29 or whatever would be gone in a week on a high offense team

Like man instead of getting Keith, Holland could have got Chycrun for a 1st + 2nd + Brogberg and Yamamoto or something

It would cripple the islanders for years. I don't have anything against Chychrun, he's a very good player but he's not a game changer and hes being overrated because he shot 10% last season.

The Isles don't need a defenseman like Chychrun, they have two top pair D and a big time up and comer in Dobson. Bringing in Chychrun and trading Beauvillier would not even make the isles a better team. Then you're adding in Raty who looks like a future 2C and a likely top 10 pick. The islanders need an average two way D to play with Dobson, which could be Salo. This reminds me of when everyone argued the isles should trade Barzal + 1st for Duchene to "put them over the top"

I'm not saying Chychrun won't return a lot, I'm arguing that the isles trading for him would cripple the team for years considering what they would have to give up. They are the last team that should be trading for Chychrun

I think Kypreos was speculating, If Dubas trades Sandin+ for Chychrun he should be fired on the spot.

Its a matter of perspective but with the cap rn being where it is were not doing that. As Sandin is gonna be cheap for a while

So apparently to be able to afford Eichel on return Vegas is trying to trade for Ryan Kesler and Boychuck

Heres the thing

Who wants to go to Arizona rn... The answer nobody

Coyotes are gonna have a hard time attracting free agents so why not claim a guy who they can use and has a contract into next season

Coyotes should not care how good this player is as they plan to be bad for a long time

Ritchie making 2.5mill not only fills in a contract spot but helps them reach the cap floor next year

And those 2 outweigh the logic of well you know this contract sucks

Bad teams dont care, there mission tank for the #1OA pick

Not a problem. They don't even have arena for next year so there's still a chance they relocate.

Say if they moved to Houston, attracting assets will be much easier.

He was one of my favorites in Dallas. I was mad when they moved him. Then again he was moved for Sharp who was a player I also liked so I wasn't too mad.

I mean, there's a difference between using LTIR to keep an injured player there until playoffs and someone expecting to acquire a couple guys and treat LTIR as a way to get more actual cap space.

I get that by doing that they can fill up their LTIR pool and thereby activate Eichel while avoiding most of his cap hit, but I don't get the specifics of how it works. Anyone?

Idk but apparently they got 2 options

1. Trade Smith + Janmark + Carrier

or

2. LTIR shenanigans
