Some of them aren't surprising; Hoffman, Laine, Connor, Ekblad, but I'm surprised by Brendan Smith and Derick Brassard, though they significantly overachieved given their expected chances.

Is Hughes anywhere close to the top? Because he's been scoring off of slap shots as of late

That's the whole available list. Also it's the 2021 calendar year and Hughes missed significant time.

I doubt it. They already have Geertsen who sucks at hockey. Ritchie is just Geertsen but more expensive

Oilers are gonna claim him

Nah, but Nash maybe for the Devils to improve defense could be tempting

Oilers and Ritchie though would be pretty funny

Lets see as every time a leaf player gets waived they mostly get claimed lul

Just ask Vesey, Boyd, Amadio, Brooks among the many many others lul

Ekblad gets practically no credit for how good he is. Top 5 D-men in the league have to be IMO (no order) Hedman, Fox, Makar, Josi, Ekblad. HM to Jaccob Slavin (who also is enormously underrated).

The Hurricanes could decide to let go DeAngelo this season and trade for Klingberg with extension.

that doesn't seem like something the Hurricanes would do. They like having defenseman on under market value contracts.

I don't see Arizona claiming Ritchie because his salary is higher than his cap hit next season

I don't know if Klingberg can realistically obtain the $8M+ contracts that some speculate. An AAV in the range of Krug or Petry seems more likely to me, and it is pretty much good value for Klingberg.

I forget how do you calculate deadline cap space. Is it accumulated per day your under the cap

Trying to figure it out for something

And if someone could calculate based on having 1.2 mill in current space that would be appreciated

@Kotkaniemi15 , pretty sure you calculated the Habs cap space last year, you can probably help him

They're 110% not claiming him. I can't recall a single time a multi-year contract was claimed off waivers. If something they make 3rd-party retention at the deadline, but claiming a below replacement level forward at 2.5M with an extra year is illogical.

It's the 3.3mil in actually dollars that IMO will stop any team, especially a cash strapped origination like ARI, claiming. Stranger things have certainly happened, but I'm with you, Nick 100% clears tomorrow.

This season, Siegenthaler, Lindell, Heiskanen & Whitecloud stand out.

For forwards, Matthews, Bergeron, Tanev & Kämpf are at the top

I saw a chart for Matthews and his numbers are very similar to when Barkov won the Selke last season, except he doesnt PK which probs means no Selke for him lul

KEEFE put him on the PK already

Barkov and O'Reilly have also been pretty good.

If we kept Siegenthaler imo we would have the best d in the league. I miss him. Glad he is doing very well

I'm pretty sure Carolina offered Dougie Hamilton 6.25 mill x 8 , I think Carolina would offer that but I don't think there's a chance Klingberg accepts it after being criminally underpaid throughout his career. He'll sign with whoever pays him most IMO

Yeah, you’re not close to best D in the league, Carlson, Fehervary, Orlov, Jensen, Schultz, TVR with or without Siegenthaler wouldn’t cut it for best D in the league

Well, the Lightning would love Klingberg, but probably can't afford him even for this year, let alone re-sign him. Flames, Bruins and Oilers would probably be interested. Could actually see the Oilers making a push for both him and Khudobin in a package deal.

Flames and Bruins both already have two very good RD each. Oilers could use any good defenseman, but Klingberg has slipped from an offensively strong 2-way D to more of an offense only guy (as far as I’m aware, maybe he’s had a defensive resurgence in the last month or so idk). They don’t need another Barrie, and they already have Bouchard as well. The only way they’d be in is if Barrie went the other way probably.
