Caufield is literally one of the 2-3 players on the Habs roster that you can't buy low on.

Montréal needs high-talents, not multiple lower-end talents. It doesn't make sense at all to trade a young player as good as Caufield for lesser quantity that play positions we're already loaded of.

I get where you are coming from, though the trade that I see is Mukhamadullin, Foote and a 2nd. The firsts are relative. I think Caufield is having a tough season, but the general consensus is that he is still an outstanding prospect who just turned 20 yesterday. While Foote was a first and is a good prospect, I would assume that we can all agree that he does not have anywhere near the ceiling that Caufield has. I like Mukhamadullin, and he may well become a top 4 defenseman (he looked good at the WJC).

Never say never, but I would assume that the Canadiens aren't going to trade Caufield. There aren't many untouchables on that team, but I assume that he is one of them. This is all just my opinion though, so please don't hate.

I think caufield is heavily overrated. foote and muck hammah are still good enough prospects that their draft position still weighs on their values. im not saying footes gunna be mcavoy or anything but hes still a quality enough prospect.

I think this is probably fair value to an overpay for caufield ( i just am not high on him, hes small and relies heavily on his shot.) agree to disagree on value with anyone who comments though.

I think Foote will be better than Caufield, Mukhamadullin will be a top 4 D and a 2nd is useful if you ask me.
