I have a question for everyone (specifically Devil1122 aadoyle MatthewsFan since they are devils fans or leafs fans)

Does Severson to the leafs make sense? How much does it cost?

I'd say the Muzzin trade is the closest comparable by far and that it'd take a first (or top prospect) and 2 decent prospects (or mid round picks).

I would just say this, all FANS overvalue their teams players and prospects. Finding ANY common ground on this forum is almost impossible.

For instance using the Muzzin comparison, that would mean: 1st + Knies + Niemela which is just ridiculous. Both players have over performed their draft position and not even remotely close to Grundstrom and Durzi.

Who knows what GM’s value. They might look at a player on Team A that fans hate but they see a useful top six, faceoff, penalty killer, or whatever.

Long winded way of saying, NO IDEA 🤷‍♂️ lol

He’d be a great addition but unless there is retention there his cap hit complicates next year.

Cost is Matthews + Nylander + Marner

Some trades I've seen are too much and others are extremely low

Muzzin trade is good comparison, but instead of 2 prospects, Devils would be targeting a solid young defensemen (or prospect). So first + prospect for Severson would be fair

But, the Devils don't really have a reason to trade Severson and they would want to keep him around long term. So it would take an overpayment to get him out of NJ this deadline.

If the Leafs desperately need a two-way puck moving defenseman (I doubt they do), then they should trade for Severson. If they want a cheap bottom 4 puck-moving defensemen, trade a 2nd + 4th (for extra retention) for Subban

I mean more in style. Muzzin's good defensively, 40pt guy, LHD, Montour/Severson are 35pt RHD, more offensive than defensive (although Montour was younger too). All at the time of the trade ofc. Should be like 1st+Hirvonen tops for Severson, maybe with Holl for cap reasons and then the Devils can flip him

That a good point, yes. I agree it shouldn't be much more than Hirvonen and a first. I don't think it would be wise to part with BOTH a top prospect and a first but that seems to be the consensus from devils fans on here.

Lol yup fans definitely overrate their own players. That goes for all fanbases to be clear.

As for the Muzzin comparable, are Durzi and Grundstrom really equal to Knies and Neimela? Because I would have to think the latter 2>the former 2.

The last part is certainly a good point (and of course, whether there is retention or not changes the value). Who knows how it will turn out I guess.

LOL.

I'd say this is a good analysis. First+prospect seems fair to me. It also might make sense for the devils to hold on to him.

It's hard to know exactly what the leafs would want. Unlikely they want Subban, as he's not really a defense first guy. Severson is kind of in the middle so I'd want him long before Subban.

At the end of the day, it might be better to go another route.

Severson goes for around a 1st + prospect

Lol, pretty sure when attendance is overcapacity, that means it's a sellout + all the boxes are sold out too, etc

Canadian team average attendances will be much lower than average even if our fearless leaders here in Ontario lift their iron fists off us

That very much depends on the Arena/local fanbase, the Bell Centre is great, the Canadian Tire Centre is okay and those are the only 2 arena's I've been to

I’ve been to 2 games: a leafs game, and a jets game. Both were pretty awesome.

The arena I live closest to is ubs and msg. Based on attendance ubs seems pretty good. I went to capital one arena to get a jersey from the team store over the summer but we were an hour late and it was closed. I hope I get to go to one soon. Ovi isn’t getting any younger

Edit: I am not a bandwagon. I used to live in Maryland. Gaithersburg Maryland. I hate when I get called that.

It’s only bandwagon when you switch favourite teams often. If you’ve been a cap fan for a while that certainly is not bandwagoning.

I was a emotional kid then after we lost. I still am

According to NHLRumorsDaily

Avalanche have interest in Clade Giroux. Flyers wanted Alex Newhook, but talks steered towards Tyson Jost

Tyson Jost as the main piece would be very overwhelming, I hope there's at least a 2nd + Helleson attached to that.

So tonight we have Stars vs. Sabres. At 2 f*cking AM for me...which is actually early for me. Usually they start at 3.30.

Honestly though, this is the game that will settle the score of the year for me. I'm going to watch this game, and if we once again suck tonight I'm probably going to cancel my subscription to the service I use to watch these games.

I don't think I want to pay to just feel bad. I might be a bit crazy but I'm not a masochist.

Aaaaaargh I should've known it's going to be bad since we're the visiting team.

So far this has been a complete torture.

You need two things

1) f*cked up sleeping schedule

2) nothing worry about the next day (I'm unemployed at the moment so I'd spend the day in the vicinity of my fridge, my bed and my toilet anyway lol.)

Watching NHL is a fun pastime when the clock doesn't matter. Although there's not much fun in doing it right now.
