Toronto and Ottawa certainly do.

Matthews > Draisaitl.

Chabot and Nurse are similar, but Chabot has less cap hit and is younger.

Chabot is 2 years younger than Nurse, signed for 1.25m less/year and is arguably better than Nurse despite being on a bottom 5 team when Nurse is on a top 5 team. Ottawa would pass.

It's not arguable, Chabot is way better than Nurse

I was trying to be nice haha

But yeah I would imagine if they traded places, Chabot with the Oilers vs Nurse on the Sens wouldnt be much of a conversation.

Sharks take that and run, and Hertl catches up to them next season as he resigns with SJ in the offseason to join Nuge.

Comparing the two players without contracts/term? Hertl > Nuge no doubt.

Not the point but I'll give it to you. 11th and 12th in the league the last two years and looked like a wagon before they hit a wall recently.

I could reword it to say the Oilers are a considerably better team with considerably better players including two of the most prolific scorers of this generation but the point stands.

Sharks would absolutely do that trade. I like RNH, and he'd be a great fit for San Jose. And, as CheechYou points out, Hertl is out of contract after this year so Hertl re-signed plus RNH would make for devastating center depth.

I wanna open up the Draisaitl Matthews debate. I really think not one player is better than the other as one has advantages over the other. For example, Matthews is a top 5 defensive centre but Draisaitl is a top 5 (possibly top 3) passer. Both are elite goal scorers but Draisaitl has the edge offensively due to his ability to create more offensive for himself and his teammates being the better play driver. However, Matthews is way ahead when it comes to defensive play, being probably in the Selke conversation every year brings the huge difference as Drai is slightly below average defensively. There's a lot of stats to pull up that show the level of each player but when it comes down to it, they are the same skill level to me and contracts would be the deciding factor.

Matthews leads Draisaitl in every way apart from points with McDavid.

It’s not a huge edge but I still give to matthews. I think he can be the best player on a cup winner once he leaves Toronto m. Not sure draisaitl can be

Joe Sakic hangs up on you before you finish your sentence. It may not be a verbal "no" but the sentiment is all the same.

I meant similar in the sense that they have similar roles as offensive D-men.
