Sell High

Created by: bdb
Team: 2021-22 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 16, 2022
Published: Feb. 16, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Car Trade: Canes decide to go all in on Miller as arguably the best piece available. They get 2 playoff runs out of Miller and a solid tweener in Hoglander on a elc. Canucks get Necas on a off year, and 2 good picks. Nino makes the cap work and is another piece they can flip.

Cal Trade: Sutter adds another vet whose won in his system for a player that he's soured on. Nucks retain to make salary work and add pick to balance Dubé's potential.

Tor Trade: Tor adds 2 defensive players and shave 1.5M off the cap for another move. Nucks add pick to make up for Kerfoots value.

Min Trade: Wild add 2 players they know for playoff depth, don't take on/clear some long term salary without subtracting much from team. Van gambles on a off year for greenway.

Greenway isn't having a off-year. He is a part of the best shutdown line in hockey. Greenway-JEEK-Foligno has yet to surrender a 5v5-goal this year and Greenway has been a huge part of that. Sure, his offense is not like it was last year but he is not an offensive forward.

Also, he was just signed for 3x3. I don't think we want to trade him.

Wild pass. The value of the trade isn't bad, it's just not something that makes any sense for MN.

Nino's time in MN is over. He doesn't fit anywhere in MN's FWD group or their system. Seeing his G7 OT goal in-person is probably the highlight of my sports watching experiences. He's just not a fit with the team anymore.

Hunt is more useless than Benn. Addison also brings more to the table than Hunt and he can't crack the lineup.

If Necas was not available in a package for 5 years of Eichel, what on earth makes you think he’d be available for less than 2 years of Miller?

awful for the leafs, downgrading massivly on forward only to a slower older bottom pairing defender and giving up a pick. Not even close

yeah, i read that wrong, either way the pick doesnt make up for the terrible downgrade. this trade doesnt help the leafs at all and makes them a worse team

Kerfoot has been so important for us. I dont think we'd trade him in season.

You won't be able to "sell high" and get a guy who's value is at his highest in kerfoot
