If we exit in 1st round do we really sign malkin and letang or do we blow it up

Description
This isnt totally serious, dont torch me too hard. Seems like wings fans would say no to a Rasmussun/Mcdavid trade they love him so much so they may say no to it. Although go look at the Wings left side on Daily Faceoff, it’s horrendous, especially next year, and Dumo is a #3 Dman on anyteam and can play with all stars like Letang, him and Seider would be nasty

Oilers easily pass they will stay loyal to smith like it or not that’s just a very obvious reality following the team. No chance they move skinner either.

The pens prospect pool isn’t great and they won’t be great for a few more years so I don’t see them blowing it up first round exit or not. If they don’t give up their first and second rounders this year they’re gonna be late picks anyway so they won’t make an immediate impact. Hextall is in a tough spot for various reasons

Personally as a wings fan would like rather make a deal for a petterson and kapanen package. Some pens fans seem to have a lot higher asking price for petterson than I expected tho

Edit: And after reading description (again personally) I think Rasmussen could fit in that package as well. He’s a solid 2 way guy with 40pt per season potential. Absolutely right that LHD are a must have for DET.

I agree. Yzerman has not spent much capital trying to shore up LHD. Leddy was a 2nd and he packaged a player he did not want in Mantha trade to boot. Can not see him giving up a pick and a player for Dumoulin. But Kap and Petersson is much more possible.

The left side of Detroit's defense is old enough without another 30yr old besides thats too much for Dumoulin. Detroit passes

They should rebuild because they won't go far.

They won't because people will still pay to see a good regular season team full of past glories. (It's a good show!)

Until Crosby ask for a trade or retires, then only will a new cycle start.

You can't do conditional picks on someone resigning anymore, but if you could Detroit would say no
