Yeah we know, we hear this every time it’s brought up. I think you’ll be surprised if NY is actually interested in scheifele.

As for the OP, I don’t mind these deals. I’d just swap Heinola for Samberg and then include Heinola with wheeler to Arizona and not retain.

I can't see Wheeler waiving or the Jets retaining that much. It's pointless if the Jets retain that much, they'd end up with about the same cap hit with a replacement player that its probably worse than Wheeler.

The Jersey and Buffalo trades don't do anything for the Jets.

Probably right, but in terms of what Winnipeg needs Schneider is the perfect fit. Nils is probably what you'd counter with but he's undersized and Winnipeg needs size on the back end. That said all these trades are unlikely. Just what id like to see and value wise it is relatively fair imo. Just whether the team is willing to part with them is another story.

They’d probably counter with nils and also have to add more Schneider for sure has more value I see him as the next Trouba

Those trades open up slots for Samberg, Heinola, Schneider Mittelstadt needs a change, Stanley would probably get big minutes in Buffalo, NJD gets an inexpensive replacement for PK.

Agreed, but in the contending window Trouba is here and now and has a full NMC. Scheifele and Zib down the middle allow you to contend for the next 3 years. Is a 1-2 punch down the middle worth less than the "Next Trouba"? All im getting at is people see shiny and new with Schneider and there is great reason for optimism but in reality the asset that he is in making the team better should be looked at too. Just my 2 cents.

Buffalo is very set at LHD, kinda doubt they'd have much interest in Stanley, they likely still have hope for Middlestadt.

That trade is awful value-wise for Buffalo.
Not to mention it trades a player at a position of need for our deepest spot on the depth chart where Stanley would be the #6 LHD next season barring any other additions.

Its better then a Wheeler buyout, gain some cap space and get a 2nd to replace the one lost in the Dillon trade sounds alright to me, doubt the Ducks would have any interest in this though.

A 2nd for Wheeler... lol

Verbeek seems like a smart GM and he was Yzerman's right-hand man for 15 years. He's not dumb and he won't give you a 2nd for Wheeler.

I don't know. That's a lot to retain, when you consider the Jets would need to spend between $4 & 6 for a comparable Wheeler replacement. But yeah there's no reason for the Ducks to do it.

Like I said I get it, i think everyone on here gets that rangers fans don’t want to give up Schneider. I just personally think he’d be on the table. Fans see new and shiny and love it.

Get what you're saying but disagree 100%. Schneider is EVERYTHING Drury covets in a player and there is no way he trades him at 20 years old and on a cheap ELC. A team would have to massively overpay for him.

Mittelstadt doesn’t “need a change”
Just needs to get healthy

And LH defense is the one position we are actually deep at,
so no interest in Stanley

Easy pass for the Sabres imo

Stanley would not get big minutes in buffalo. He would be playing behind two first overall picks. So I can't see buffalo having any interest in this.

Mittlestadt isn't the guy Buffalo thought he was when they drafted him, but Winnipeg would have to add a pick. Stanley is nothing better than a 6th defenseman. Replace Schneider with Kravtsov and the Rangers may make that deal.

Trocheck is likely a 6, 6.5 mill contract.
