Seems like a huge overpay from the Wild for Dvorak.

At the very least, the Habs should want a complete refund.

That means a late 1st and a 2nd.

I wouldn't trade Greenway for Dvorak 1v1... let alone add.

Easy no.

imagine buying pair of shoes wearing them for 6 months getting them all dirty and stinky and trying to get a full refund?

A 1st for MAF instead of a 2nd in that trade. Talbot has 0 value to the hawks, better off moving him somewhere else if you think you can get better value for him. Or maybe mcbain and a 2nd or MAF and tou guys can move talbot elsewhere

based on? Janrok just got a 2nd 3rd and 7th. Dvorak is 4 years younger and not a rental similar offensive production but Dvorak brings a bit more defensively. Also habs dont have to move him twhey will go looking for something close to what they gave for him, given the market out there seems like they could find that. If they dont then he stay with MTL for now.

Habs pass. If they're going to trade Dvorak right now for a roster player, it's not going to be a winger where they're already loaded. Center is a far bigger need.

so you draft a player play him for a few years and hes now worth less? lol We got chiarot for free and turned that into a first a prospect and a 4th. Your analogy doesnt worked since players value are a bell curve not a straight decline.

Habs don't need another winger. A couple of offer I'd be interested in,
Addison + Dewar
McBain + 2nd + Dewar / 3rd
Kahkonen + 2nd / McBain + 5th

why would a team pay the same price you did when hes been waay worse than when you got him? now with less term also. chiarot was a massive overpay and everyone knows it

They think he hasn't lived up to the expectations and, while it's true, there's some context to it. The only games he's played were when the roster was completely depleted. He was sidelined twice and was starting to get going before his latest injury. I'd be disappointed if they trade him before they even give him a real chance under St-Louis.

thats beside the point. I was making the point that a player isnt worth less now simple because its been 6 months since he was traded. Habs dont have to move him, i'd be fine with him staying so why would they move him for a less? He also hasnt been wayyy worse he has been injuried and his numbers are on an almost identical track to what he put up last year if he had played a full season.

Couple that with how dysfunctional the habs start to the season was and i think most teams would still see him as the player he was last summer. Anyways dont need to jump into the same rabbit hole for each habs player.

Chiarot's return was almost bang on to what Hughes was reportedly asking for. So its irrelevant if you think its an overpay or not, the only way Dvorak gets traded is for a solid package, theres no reason to just give him away.

i cant see them moving him for less than what we got him for a few months ago. doesnt mean thats what his worth is, just that it doesnt make sense. they will keep him instead since they dont have any reason to move him.

Jarnkrok was a $1m cap hit rental, he's not even remotely a comparable for Dvorak. lol

Perfect for Calgary's playoff run. Whether it's stupid or not, teams always pay more for rentals they see as being the missing piece than they'd pay for a guy with multiple years of term. Teams trading guys with term are usually doing so because they need the cap space to make other moves (which Montreal doesn't) so there's no real reason to trade Dvorak and the Wild aren't paying a premium for a guy that doesn't really move the needle on making them much better. He also carries term they probably won't be able to afford without making a lot of other moves.

new shoes hold alot more value than used shoes that have gotten worse, pretty simple concept to grasp
