I will add a Canuck:

Tyler Myers

He takes bad penalties (often because of his size) and has mental lapses at times in his own zone. But his flaws are more noticeable given his size, if you take into account how much TOI he has, his mistake rate is pretty damn low. Solid D man.

Yes, I agree. Yamamoto is underrated. Now I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been a big fan of him, but he has impressed me so far this year. He has been very consistent with both of Draisaitl, and McDavid, but especially McDavid. He is a good small, honey badger. He is a good player, and we should definitely keep him. I’ve never understood the hype with trading him at all, especially when people used him to dump bad contracts.

Ten games ago, I would have told you that Yamamoto has been routinely, almost universally overrated since his abbreviated initial call-up season. Big time. Now he's finally on a hot streak - but does that suddenly make him underrated? Time will tell, but I'm not convinced.

My list would have a lot of these say guys.

Yamamoto, Kase, Mayfield I would probably omit.

And would add a couple of guys that get oversold in ACGMs so people get sick of seeing them (ie Dylan Strome).

Erm... he hasn't been even remotely consistent this season. And his numbers with both Drai and McD are still quite unimpressive, even despite the sudden hot streak.

Mayfield is a legit top 4 guy but he’s still playing behind Dobson and Pulock.

I personally think he’s been consistent with McDavid, and Draisaitl even if he didn’t put up a point every game. That’s the awesome thing about Yamamoto. If he doesn’t produce, he helps the team big time. Creating scoring chances, and playing defence is what he has been doing. He has been very good in front of the net trying to jam in that rebound. He is small so he can get pushed around easily, but he plays like he is over 6’0. He is a very good 2-way player, and the points will come, as they have been recently. That’s just my opinion.

He's so underrated you forgot.

Knyzhov missed the entire season with sports hernia and infection post-surgery. Might miss part of next year too. After winning Sharks rookie of the year he has a major setback.

Nope, Myers is barely and NHL player. If he made 2 million he would still be borderline worth his contract. Myers hasn't been good for years.

He's not underrated. He's overrated if anything. He's a below average 3rd pair defender making 6 million. Should be making less than 2 million. He's just big.

Getting on a hot streak while playing with Draisaitl or McDavid pads your stats like nothing else. A lot of highly overrated players would see big hot streaks riding their coattails.
