Ottawa says no, we have enough defensemen as is. Now if you're talking about trading Boeser's rights they are there to listen and pay a fair market value especially if its less than the ask for Fiala

Yeah, it's like everyone looked at that as a terrible trade for Ottawa and completely negleted the fact that he is a good player that has played really well for Ottawa and now there like:
well I guess we can sell Myers for a 1st.

The Myers things are almost as bad as the Byron trades.

Guys who get traded usually take a year to settle in with their new teams, so you shouldn't be giving up on Conor Garland so quickly. Pluss, his trade value is probably at a low, so New Jersey won't want to give up Ty Smith for him.

Tanner Pearson turns 30 in the off-season, and is under team control for only two more years. Why a cap-conscious team like Toronto would give up one of their top three prospects for a veteran with a $3.25 million cap hit is beyond me.

And they aren't in the position to add salary. They could get Pearson and some picks for a Nylander trade or something like that.

They could get Pearson for a 3rd. Robertson is worth a lot more than Pearson and Nylander is more valuable than all but 3 players on the Canucks roster

Nylander is an excellent player, but they would have to move salary out to get Pearson. And he may need to go, cause the Leafs need goaltending and have little to no room to make that happen, so tough decisions will have to be made; which could include trading Nylander.

Right now at least, debrusk is playing better than boeser. And boeser is going to be way more expensive.

Is he? Hasn’t shown it this year. I would need to see a bounce back before wanting to pay the guy.

I’d rather have Debrusk at 4 than Boesser at the number he will come in at.

Boston is going to have move players out for cap space as it is. They don’t have the ability to take on the contract Boesser will be asking for and fix the their other issues.

He'll also cost a lot more to sign and Boston needs to re-sign Bergeron. Right now B's sit with around $4.5 million in cap space and Bergeron will consume most of if not all of it.

I'd be interested in getting Myers if Zaitsev was going the other way but would the Canucks want to do that?

We also acquired Hamonic now, and Thomson/JBD will get more NHL reps next season too
