NJD
  1. Fiala, Kevin [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
From Russo: "The NHL salary cap next season is $82.5 million. The Wild will have to construct a full team at $69.75 million because of the penalties for buying out Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. That $12.743 million in dead money increases by $2 million in 2023-24 and 2024-25.

The math got even tighter after the club agreed to second-half extensions with Jordan Greenway, Jon Merrill and Alex Goligoski and the $2 million pickup of Tyson Jost.

So, plain and simple, unless the Wild are trading oft-injured defenseman Matt Dumba, who is one of the emotional heartbeats and leaders of the team and somebody general manager Bill Guerin adores, it’s damn near impossible to find a way that Fiala won’t be jettisoned this offseason."
MIN
  1. Walsh, Reilly
  2. 2022 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
2022 first if it falls outside the top 6... 2023 top 2 protected if it slides. Walsh is not being called up in NJ for whatever reason; Minnesota isn't dumb and he probably is called up immediately.

NJD

Additional Details:

NJD
  1. Georgiev, Alexandar [RFA Rights]

6.
NJD
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (TOR)

Minnesota Declines. Reilly Walsh isn't a need and has no space in Minnesota. Not with 8 good d under contract and a bunch of top d prospects supposed to be in ahl next year.

we re not trading (with the NYRs, first of all), for a backup goalie who is a UFA in 3 months. The last time we did that they used the pick to help them get for K'Andre Miller. I refuse to help them get better with a move like this. Sign Husso in FA and make him challenge MB for the#1 spot. Or Varly in Long Island. If you like Georgie, talk with him and tell him he will get plenty of starts with the the way 29 has played the last two years!
On Fiala, top 10, sure. other picks an prospects, sure. Top 5 this year and probably next too!
Salaries look about right KF with a slight bump IMO
More for AJ, More for Blackwood, more for Tatar. Garland is ok move, they need a RHD, Walsh is too green though.

Lordy...Georgiev to be the starting goalie? (this is a step backwards, no?)
Keep Blackwood (Daws, Bernier) over the new two

Fiala - not a top-10 pick for Fiala. Give 'em the 2nd rounder. (Also, name one example of a top-10 pick getting traded for a pending RFA...)

OK with rest

I'd do top 10 for Fiala if it came with Talbot or Addison.

Also there's a decent sample suggesting Georgiev is likely better with more starts.

I think this particular price is too steep but I am interested in Georgiev. Especially if the Rangers don't qualify him and he /does/ become UFA

Now, that I could consider! He could get a lot of reps here, for sure. But is Husso a better get? Could force MB to be better or be moved!

I think a 3rd gets it done unless there’s a bidding war. Possibly EDM.

Husso has 1 awful season and 1 good season.

Georgiev has 3 good years, 1 year good shorthanded and bad 5v5 (last year) and 1 year good 5v5 and bad shorthanded (this year)

I'm a big analytics person, but when you watch him you realize analytics make him seem a lot better then he is.

The eyeball test tells me Georgiev is very bad. Also there is about 99% chance he is non-tendered. So will be UFA in couple of months.

No, the point of analytics is to be another tool in evaluation, its not the end all be all. For example here is Nick Foligno's metrics

FF% - 55.5
SF% - 56.5
xGF% - 57.0
SCF% - 55.2
HDCF% - 59.5

^Looks amazing right? Reality is he's been pretty awful this year to the point where he started the season playing 15+ a night on average and now he's around 10 minutes a night on average.

Imo, this is the absolute wrong way to use analytics for 99% of people lol using TOI isn’t a particularly strong argument here either. Tho a quick look at evolving hockey does his his GF/60 RAPM 2 standard deviations below league average so yeah there’s something going on, but that could be bad luck or it could be something the numbers are missing. He’s got a 4% oiSH% so that could be part of it. Regardless, that doesn’t really take away from my point that for people like us, you’re better off applying context to analytics rather than the other way around

And literally no one said it’s the end all be all lmao

Digging in a tad more we see his offense has really fallen off a cliff (2nd percentile) but his defense remains strong (82%). Then you can turn to microstats to figure go even further
