I gotta disagree with that, as the hawks would be looking for a 2023 first in return for Debrincat. They won't settle on a 2022 since other teams may offer a 2023. Also, the devils first in 2023 will most likely not be a lottery pick since they'll be in the playoffs probably. Overall, the devils aren't a team that the hawks will make this trade with.

Most of the time, when top-5 picks are dealt, they are done so before it is known where the pick will land.
(for instance, Tim Stutzle pick was dealt more than two years before the draft occurred...Bowen Byram pick was 1.5 years prior)

If a team wants Debrincat they’d have to wow Chicago with at least 2 really strong young pieces to help the rebuild considering they’ve lost a 1st this year too
