Time will tell. But I think David Clarkson was a unicorn signing. No one can be as bad as he was.

Very easy no from Winnipeg. Outside of the 1st there's nothing there with much value.

Leafs decline the jets trade, both teams and Kane decline the last trade.

Winnipeg could use more scoring. Kerfoot put up 50 points, plus he plays on the penalty kill. And it's not like Winnipeg is contending for a cup anytime soon, so why pay guys like Lowry and DeMelo for three more seasons? Better to get picks. Kerfoot and Holl can be flipped for more picks.

I seem to be the only one who thinks that trading for Kane for Nylander is a horrible idea

That's a GREAT trade for the Jets, unfortunately Dubas isn't that stupid and Chevy is stupid enough to decline if that was offered to him.

Holl has no value and Kerfoot is a rental, so he has minimal value. No interest in either.

Now that's a homeristic reply! Holl better than DeMelo. That's hilarious. Lowry isn't great, but is better than Kerfoot and since Kerfoot is a rental, Lowry is much more valuable as well.

No, you're not. The only value to the Hawk with Nylander is the ability to flip him, but then that begs the question why wouldn't the Hawks flip Kane for picks/prospects if he's willing to waive in the first place? Kane is hands down more valuable then Nylander.

Demelo>Holl but he is a bit cheaper. Kerfoot>Lowry so at worse it's a wash. Then you get 2 picks. Idiotic leaf fan trade. Everyone else's mid players are a premium.

If Kerfoot wasn't a rental you may be able to try and make a case. But with Lowry being locked up long term for less money than Kerfoot, Lowry is easily the more valuable piece.

So, it was a typical Leafs fan trade in that the Leafs give up pieces of little to no value and get good pieces in return.

Why would leafs want a a guy at nearly the same price with less than half the production? I mean if Lowry was on a good deal you might have an argument. Talk about homerisms. 1st and a 3rd would be be a fair offseason return on those two players.

Re sign or flip them at the TDL. That's up to the jets.

Considering neither Jet player is on the market and neither Leaf does anything for the Jets, why would the Jets want a rental and a 7/8 defenseman?

I can understand wanting to dump Holl and Kerfoot, that's a lot of wasted cap space, but neither are desirable pieces. Flip them on your own if it is so easy.

Neither leafs player is on the market, neither is a dump either. Funny that Holl plays top 4 on a playoff team that put up 115 points but is a 7/8 on the lowly jets. Both would fetch a solid return. They may become available but by no means are they cap dumps.
