Description

Gru had an AWFUL year in Seattle. I think the pressure was high and the team was not good in front of him. I think he is the candidate for a huge rebound season. If you look at his numbers, he has always hovered around .915 and could be even better behind a much more steady Leafs D.

I think moving out Nylander makes sense if you can bring in someone young like Hoglander. It always cap room to sign someone like Marchant as well gives JT some needed speed / change on his line.

Pretty much the deal is Grubauer, Hoglander and a 2nd for Nylander and Marzek. It is a HUGE risk for the Leafs but I don't think I could trust Campbell at 5 million. My max on him is 3.5 and I feel like he will easily get more on the market. Only time will tell.

Grubauer is one of the few goalie contracts out there that is even worse than mrazek

Absolutely no reason for Toronto to do this but they should do it anyways because it’d be funny

If Campbell asks for $5M, you give up Nylander to get a more expensive goalie that you can't definitively say is an upgrade?

Don't see the Canucks moving Hoglander for a draft pick. If they do move him it's likely part of a larger deal or a deal for a young nhl ready RHD

No, not worth trading Nylander to find out if Grubauer is better than Campbell. That would be very bad asset management and there's not even a solid D to show for a Nylander move like this.

Hoglander's trade value is pretty low right now after a down season.
He has a high ceiling, so the Canucks will probably not looking into trade him just yet unless a team decides to overpay.
