He had one good year on a very stacked team. If you take away last season, he might not even be worth a 3x3. What do you think he's worth? Also, I think the chance to play with Miller and/or Petterson, and to automatically be in the top 6 would be an incentive to come to Van.

No from Winnipeg. Boeser is a poor skating, complimentary winger due a large raise when he hasn't been able to live up to his current contract and Poolman is a cap dump.

That doesn't get you a very good, right shot, top 4 defenseman and a pick on top when Winnipeg is giving up the most valuable player.

I think a lot of teams would give up a top 4 RHD for Boeser.

His Dad developed dementia this year so his totals suffered, but he's a legit threat to score 25-30 goals over a full season, and only 25.

I think he is likely to get around 5.5x5 on the open market but he is definitely a difficult contract to project. I could see it ranging anywhere from close to your offer to $6x5

If he had signed a reasonable cost extension he might get an older top 4 defenseman, but no one is giving up 3 years of a right shot, top 4 defenseman in his prime for a complimentary winger. Especially when you are trying to saddle that team with a cap dump as well.

Speed is king in the NHL and Boeser is a slow and poor skating. Sorry but he just isn't worth his QO and the Jets need Pionk far more than another expensive winger. It's way easier to find wingers than top 4 right shot defensemen.

Other than not knowing the contract demands, we just can't take Poolman. He has 3 years left at $2.5M per and that is just too expensive to sit in the pressbox. I do think we open up a spot for Kovacevic on the right side so for me moving Pionk isn't a dealbreaker if the return is right, but with Columbus' 3rd there are still a lot of players I like in that tier so it's actually tough for me to part with and Poolman is a no go.

Interesting idea but some pieces we'd need to pull out and I'd need to talk contract with Boeser as a RFA before I'd be willing to pull the trigger on anything.

So you dont think Top 6 wingers are worth Top 4 D? That's weird man. Many would disagree with you. Boeser with 25 goals and 60 pts is worth more than Pionk with 30 As.

Also, Poolman already played for the Jets and would eat up some rightside minutes.

Poolman is a no way but I can see a one for one happening if Boeser is traded with a signature of 6.5M or less on a long term deal. The Jets would also have to get a RD first

If the Jets can get Klingberg and then do this one for one, its a deal

Yeah jets can’t afford to take on poolman and his deal. But I would like getting boeser. Him with KFC and PLD would be fun to watch.

If jets could get Klingberg that would be best case scenario.

I can't think of any that would disagree that RHD are more valuable. The hardest positions to fill in hockey are 1C and top 4 right shot defenseman. The easiest to fill is wingers of any type. So, that tells you where the value is right there.

So, to help your case your crediting Boeser with point values he's never reached and discounting Pionk's totals based on one year where he had concussion issues? Plus ignoring Boeser's poor skating, which won't get better and how bad his next contract will be? Pionk and his production are a far better value than Boeser.

Again no one will give you a top 4 right shot defenseman in their prime for a winger that isn't elite. RHD is far more valuable. If Boeser was so valuable, why trade him?

The Jets had Poolman and know what he is, a marginal bottom pairing defenseman. Your GM overpaid him, your stuck with him.

Not sure klingberg coming, but possibly woo would be interesting from Vancouver along with boeser, so many scenarios this off-season and probably going to be a letdown. Probably same old bargain bin shopping and possibly a cap dump for a pick or two.

Take out the pick and Poolman and it’s a definitely something to think about… though the Jets would need a replacement or upgrade on RD in the works from elsewhere

Winnipeg cannot afford to lose Pionk as he is their only true top 4rhd. Schmidt and Demelo could fill in but not permanent. This is why Pionk is more important than Boeser for the Jets. To other clubs who have a solid right side and lacking wingers maybe.
