Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse [RFA Rights]
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Additional Considerations: If Keith wanted to LTIRetire for some reason (Which I don't think is likely... Chicago would probably be willing to take on the contract for an additional asset.)
EDM
  1. Raddysh, Taylor
  2. Strome, Dylan [RFA Rights]
  3. 2023 4th round pick (CHI)
2.
CHI
  1. Bear, Ethan [RFA Rights]
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (CHI)
CAR
  1. Kubalik, Dominik [RFA Rights]
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (TOR)
3.
CHI
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
There is a lot of term going to LA in this deal and I'm not sure what should come back. I'm going to tentatively put a second-round pick coming back.

I would be willing to have some kind of cap exchange here.
LAK
  1. Johnson, Tyler ($2,500,000 retained)
  2. McCabe, Jake
Additional Details:
Maybe the addition of Tyler Johnson is too much to this trade but I feel like at half retention he has some kind of positive value. Kings are losing Brown to retirement and they have to feel like with a Healthy Drew Doughty/ Some more stability on the D side of things they could go on an NYR-style run in the immediate future.
4.
CHI
  1. Laaksonen, Oskari
  2. 2022 1st round pick (FLA)
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Chicago gets the second best 2nd round pick that Buffalo owns in 2023.
BUF
  1. Borgström, Henrik
  2. Murphy, Connor
  3. 2022 3rd round pick (EDM)
5.
CHI
  1. Mrázek, Petr
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (TOR)
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (TOR)
TOR
  1. Johnson, Reese
  2. 2022 6th round pick (CBJ)
  3. 2023 5th round pick (CHI)

So, CHI and TOR fans are just going to do this debate every day?

For the Canes trade, you might as well just drop the picks. Canes accept regardless, but the pick swap is unnecessary.

I dont see anyone giving up a 1st for Murphy, let alone a 1st + a 2nd + a prospect

I don’t think Canes accept either way, and it has everything to do with Kub fit and QOs. Feels a bit like trading one contract issue foe another which is higher. Does Kub fit in our system?

I say pass from EDM. Really not a fan of Strome at all and certainly not going to give up Puljujarvi+ for him.

I think you could just drop the picks and do a straight swap with Bear for Kubalik. It's a good trade for both teams regardless

To be fair, most, if not all of that thread, was people absolutely pissing themselves laughing at how unbelievably bad that trade was. I don't think you can use it as a blueprint for future trades.

Risto stunk and everyone knew it except 1 fool. And Murphy isn't hurt all the time. It's not like there's this nagging injury that keeps him from playing.

What's Murphys deal with the concussion? I thought he had a bad one recently. Only asking, I believe Skinner had 3 before we acquired him, and his noggin has not been a problem.

Don’t know why you would consider McCabe a cap dump. Tyler Johnson at 2.5 is what I would call a fair value. In any case it would address your need for a LD, and Johnson can be a good bottom 6 player.

Because both players struggled in their roles. TJ’s value has sunk like a stone.

I think he's a cheaper option for a sniper. 100% agreed nothing is guaranteed that he'll get back to his 30 goal season, but he is a goal scorer with a heck of a shot and isn't afraid to crash the net. He's trying to improve on his defense, but thats one of his knocks imo. Is he a fit for CAR? He's the cheap option if you want to go that route. Not the 1st option, but if you want to keep Morrow and Necas...not exactly a ton of options available then.
