Can't think of a single reason the Blues would want to do that.

In what world is that the case? The Rangers are giving up 4 premium assets for a 1 year rental who they cannot afford to re-sign. Several of those assets off the current NHL team which they will then need to replace.

Kakko, Lundkvist, and Chytil are NOT premium assets, that's where you are wrong

Leafs easily decline that. Nylander>Horvat, Kerfoot>Pearson, and somehow the Leafs are still adding in that trade. The only thing going in Toronto's favour is cap space

Horvat > Nylander, Pearson = Kerfoot

Horvat has never got more than 60 points in his career... Not sure how he would be better than Nylander. Pearson is an overpaid, glorified 3rd liner at best.

Pearson is NOT overpaid, you clearly haven't watched the player. Horvat is a better leader than Nylander and he's better at raising his game in big moments than Nylander is despite having slightly lower offensive point totals

As fair as the Miller trade may be in terms of value, I don’t know if it’d be in the Rangers best interest to make the trade. They’re still committed to players they feel can play a larger role in the future, and don’t have the cap space to retain a player like Miller past this year.

I wouldn't call it "slightly" lower LOL. Horvat also only has 1 year left on his contract. I just don't see the Leafs doing that as it pretty much keeps them the same. Nylander only get's traded if it makes them better, which this trade doesn't.

Because it is a horrible trade for the leafs. Nylander>horvat, younger better more term. Kerfoot>Pearson and somehow we are giving up a prospect.

Leafs would gladly give up futures for horvat. But this trade is horrible for the leafs.

They can resign Horvat at 6,75 for 6 years but Nylander will come at 7,5+ mil

How are an average at best 3C, winger who looks like a bust, and a decent but not great prospect all premium assets? Not to mention Rangers also dump Nemeth’s contract and get a cheap RHD that can fill in with injuries since the Rangers are pretty deep there

No Nylander will come in at 6.9m because he has another year left. Leafs can sign any ufa that is available. They can sign horvat without making this trade. You are trading one year of horvat for 2 years of nylander. Leafs would rather have Nylander kerfoot and their prospect.

If they aren't good why do the Canucks want them?

Considering the Canucks rejected Lundkvist, Chytil, and a 1st at the deadline it seems like they don’t want them. Maybe they’d be interested in Kakko and maybe Kakko would be better on a new team, but as of now he doesn’t look very good
