Love (and sometimes hate) this in junior and college hockey. You appreciate your team's best players a lot more imo

Dostal with his second start of the season tonight. Had 1.33 GSAx, .920 s% Looked really good, a few things in his game still to be worked on (like rebound control) but that's common for Goalies that age. Second NHL game with a s% north of .920 (his overall s% is severely pulled down by the TOR game where he had a .667 s% on 15 shots, couldn't watch the game so not 100% sure why that happened but probably just him having a bad night).

Dostal saves 46/49 (+ .939 s%) and is the only reason the Ducks won against the Oilers. He's proving he should be the backup next year at the very latest. Verbeek should trade Stolarz and then play Dostal as the backup imo.

I’ve always been higher on Jiricek over Nemec. IMO he shouldn’t have fallen to 6th.

As an undrated FA signing, like found money. I’d take those stats anyday as a first year player 🤷‍♂️

He's also a goalie which is voodoo. Some goalies put up Elite stats in the AHL and can't save a Puck in the NHL. Can also be the opposite. Weird how they work

I love Dvorsky. I'd love to see Montreal get him with their 2nd 1st round pick. Hoping Florida can hover around 10th overall and we somehow get him.

I don't think Dvorsky falls to 10 tbh. He'd be my pick to round out the top 5 right now, but even if he slips, talented centres with 1C upside don't fall very far, and when they do, it's usually because there are good defensemen. This draft lacks D, and it's hard to see too many wingers (even ones as talented as Benson, Sale, etc.) going ahead of legitimate 1C candidates. I could maybe see Yager, and perhaps one of the top wingers (Anaheim doesn't really need a C, and Arizona could maybe afford to take a winger too) or potentially Will Smith going ahead of Dvorsky, but I don't think he falls to 10. Maybe 7 or 8.

Funnily enough, I was on the receiving end of a similar temper tantrum in one of my last games of competitive hockey. There was 9 seconds left in OT in an elimination playoff game and the opposing defenseman punches my head several times for digging at a loose puck. A penalty in OT was a penalty shot, which I scored on to send that team home and keep mine alive. Moral of the story: players like Logan Mailloux lose you hockey games, and more specifically, important hockey games. And he’s still a POS too.
