interested to see the breakdown of the deal, assuming it's heavy frontloaded and by the time he is 40 he will help another team get to the Cap Floor with minimal real $

Maybe they hope he retires before then or goes on LTIR

we don't care about then. As long as the AAV is as low as possible while Sid's around that's a win.

I assume it is. I think they have the "we're gonna be bad post Sid so who cares" mindset, which is good

Thats a good contract for the Pens. Kept the AAV down by giving term and the last 3-4 seasons don't really matter because the team won't be competitive anyway.

He'll retire during your rebuild, great deal for the Pens to keep the window open.

Gotta be LTIRetired cause there would be a recapture for this if he straight retires

Yea for sure. I don't necessarily think it's that terrible. As a team When you have Sidney Crosby you have to Do your best to win Literally every year. IT potentially could really suck if Letang instantly regresses but I think he still be good for at least the next 2 years.

We are rebuilding after 3-4 years anyways. It is a massive W that we got the AAV so low for those years as whatever happens after doesn’t really matter
