Where's the first the Toronto extremists were expecting? Where's Connor Brown with retention?

The Toronto guys will be heartbroken. And you and I and @csick are vindicated.

Haha I can't wait to see the sens fans melt when they see the price it will cost. It saves Ottawa 5mil cash because they can't buy him out right now on IR. 5 mil cash is worth a lot

I predicted that Toronto would move back from the second round to the third in 2024. I don't think I was that far off.

Dubas was going to work Ottawa over in this deal. He did not even get cap dump market rate. this will be the move on his Tombstone when he gets fired.

Great moves by the Leafs (snicker).Huh?. Trading out of the first round to get rid of Mrazek's 3.8m X 2 contract. Then getting nothing in return to acquire 4.7m Murray.
Absolutely crazy.. I couldn't believe any Leaf GM or anyone in Leaf management couldn't think they could get a better goalie than Murray..,especially at that cap hit.
I don't know why, but Dubas for some reason has more power in MLSE than Putin has as President of Russian. Where is Shanahan at all the other high priced Leafs executives overseeing the moves on the team?

I would have bee Okay with this if it were 50% retained. I am so confused by the 25% retention. Ottawa win for sure.

My AGMS were "what I would do" which was Connor Brown retained to take on Murray Retained.

Clearly me and Dubas see this differently.

    Big win for Ottawa!

This is a horrible trade by dubas. Full well knowing that just a few days ago murray blocked a trade with the same retention to buffalo swapping 7oa for 16oa and adding another asset.

3rd and a 7th for Murray at 4.7m is brutal by dubas. Even if Murray works out it doesn't change that. At 50% retained It might be okay.

I told you this was coming... I just didn't know it would be this bad.

Dubas, full well knowing that Murray blocked a draft trade with buffalo that was sending 7oa and an extra asset to buffalo for 16oa at the exact same retention, went ahead and pulled the trigger on this.

As I said before, even if Murray works out dubas still made a horrible trade. He should be fired. If not for this trade then publicly daring Sandin to sign an offersheet. We will see how detrimental that was on Wednesday.

Sandin: Leafs really don't have the to sign him above his qualifying offer. I expect a team to offer 2.1m to 4m which is second round pick. Let's say 3m X 3 years. IMO Sandin would sign that, and Leafs couldn't match. And Sandin has time on his hands. He can wait and the Leafs still have to fill out their roster....Engvall to be resigned or let go and with the Sandin not guaranteed to be a Leaf, do the Leafs go the UFA market to get a cheap UFA Dman?
Oilers, Kings, maybe Dallas, St Louis, could use a LHD.

Dubas fired? Well his boss and advisors seem to encourage his moves. If he's fired they are admitting they made mistakes by letting Dubas run rampart.
Shanahan has built a "Burke House". Filling the executive offices with his yes men.
If Murray doesn't play well, Leafs have no cap flexibility to solve their goaltending issues. Well at least the Leafs have their first rounder....and it might be a lottery pick.

A team will OS him 1 x 4.2 m pay a 2nd for his rights and then sign him for a reasonable extension accounting for his 4.2m bonus first year.

Dubas in the other hand could have had him around 1.5m but was too proud or afraid to ask Muzzin to waive.
