The Jets aren't adding to Dubois and giving him away for nothing.

Dubois gets more as a rental in 2 years.

Nothing ?? you get Necas who is young and still has alot of potential especially in the scoring side, Bear who is a young puck moving dman, plus you can flip fast at the deadline and you get picks, for a guy who doesn't want to be there, don't see how that's "nothing"

Honestly with how pissy he's been since entering the league, I kind of hope WPG can't get an offer they'll accept, and choose to sit him for two years out of spite and crater his whole career

ROFLMAO!!!! Just how good do you imagine PLD to be? I bet dollars to doughnuts you think you could get McDavid or Draisaitl types of returns for PLD!

It's nothing Winnipeg needs. Necas is a bust at this point and the rest are low quality players. If these guys can be flipped, then go ahead and flip them and come back with what they get and well see if it is enough.

Right now, 2 years of PLD Plus his rental return is better than thus as the Jets would target pieces they actually need.

That's a possibly, albeit a very slim one. I could see it going until the end of November though before he's signed. The must likely scenario is that he signs a one year deal and is traded next summer.

Especially if the real offers out there are this poor.

Necas and the picks are a good base for a PLD trade, Fast is a good 3rd liner and gawd knows the Jets 3rd line needs a ton of help but he's only got a year left and likely walks so he doesn't add much from a Jets perspective.

Bear is redundant on the Jets blue line so he adds little value to this deal and would have little value if the Jets tried to flip him.

Ottawa and Detroit wouldn't have interest in those guys, I think both are Jets next season, if there's interest in DeMelo around the league than he's the guy to trade, at least one of those three dmen need to move to open a spot for a youngster coming up, DeMelo would be my choice to move.

I don't understand the hate for a guy wanting to play closer to home. No one was this upset when Tavares only wanted to sign in Toronto or when Fox (who had not even played in the league) said he would only sign with NYR or when Gaudreau or Tkachuk wanted to leave Calgary or when Petry only wanted to play for a team in the states. This scenario literally happens all the time, why is it such a big deal when someone wants to play in Montreal cause he is from there? Is it cause it is Montreal and no one thinks we should have good players or is everyone just jealous that we already have 24 cups? Either way it is kind of ridiculous to make such a statement about a player who wants to return closer to home.

It isn't about Montreal, it is not about jealousy, it is about the juvenile way Dubois is handling it through Brisson. Trouba wanted out and after rescinding his trade request he and Overhardt never made public comments until the trade was done and he never revealed publicly or to other GMs that he had a "yes" list of one team. Kane requested a trade out of Winnipeg every year (according to Kane when he was in Buffalo) but he and Oster never spoke about it publicly. Laine wanted out, showed up and played well.

What do I think will happen? Dubois shows up to camp and does what is in his best interest which is to play well. Jets will look to trade him at the 2023 TDL or the 2023 offseason to whoever wants him. If he pulls another antic like "the shift" then not only does he hurt the Jets, he hurts himself as his character will definitely be called into question.

If you don’t like the offer that’s fine but calling Necas a bust is laughable. He didn’t have a great year by his standards last year but was still productive.

Also not sure what you expect out of a PLD trade. Maybe it’s more than this but it’s unlikely it’s substantially more than a good young NHL player and a first or something around there.

Okay, I guess bust is a little harsh, disappointment is probably a better description.

If Dubois is traded now he'll get more than the standard TDL rental price. So, a first + good prospect + more for the 2 years.

It's unlinkey Chevy considers a marginal bottom pairing defenseman and a 30 year old rental bottom sixer. He wouldn't accept low end pieces like that and lower the pick value he gets. If Necas was a center I could see him bring a piece, but as a winger, I doubt he'd be a main piece for Chevy.

Yeah I get that perspective. Last year was a disappointment but he still seems promising. He’s actually a natural center and has been begging for the switch back so it’s likely he’ll go back to C this season or in the near future.

I get those other pieces or later picks aren’t as appetizing. I would just guess a Necas type plus a first plus one more decent piece is probably what type of offers would come to you guys but maybe I’m wrong.

Seems like a crappy situation for WPG with the way PLD has handled himself tho

PLD has not handled this great but at least he gave them 2 years to work with unlike Gaudreau who literally didn't give any notice at all.

I think the Canes have one more big surprise move in their pocket. It may take some time to unfold, but I think it's going to happen. And it could very well involve Necas. If it does, it will be something very worthwhile. If they felt Nino was the piece they really needed for the last forward spot, he would have been signed. I just got a feeling. They need one more big move to put them at a more competitive level than last year.
