Pasta blockbuster plus more

Created by: ngikas
Team: 2022-23 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 13, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No idea if that trade is close or not in value on the pasta deal. Only thing I think that might be hard to sway this trade is the age difference. Drysdale and Terry are the two younger pieces going over. I think there could be discussions that elaborate from this starting point though.

Chychrun trade; Lysell and a 1st is a must, added Grizz (good flip value imo), I added Folingo and Nosek to make the cap work. Folingo probably blocks this trade unless theres maybe a move to somewhere else of his liking, I compensated with a 2nd round pick. In the end I think its enough but I cant see Folingo waiving his NMC.

Smith for Nyquist; With Laine needing to be signed, CBJ will have to clear some cap. Idk if something needs to be added either way. Feel like this is a good fit for a trade for CBJ. Smith keeps a good skill presence at a much more effective cost, minimizing the hit of Nyquist leaving. Idk if the retainment alone on smith equals fair value. Personally it seems like a better deal than paying for someone to take him.

Reilly trade; idek, feel like theres always a surplus of LHD and that Reilly is a player that you can find at a cheaper price than giving up a draft pick. Seen a few Reilly to STL on here so I just went with it.

And then instead of David Krejci, we commit to Nazem Kadri.

Boston fans complain about paying Coyle 5m, a 40-45 point center, yet want to pay a 55 point center even more to age 37. 🙄.

Kadri doubled his career ppg average last year. At age 31. It was anomaly that won’t be duplicated. Anyone paying him off from that year will regret it and get what they deserve.

Arizona says no. Blues are already over the cap and have too many LD. Not sure Pasta makes sense for Anaheim rn. Think theyre gonna want to see what the 2 young guys do this season. And ^ Debrusk and Kadri don't mix lol. Kadri doesn't mix well in lots of places though and someone is going to get him. Question, what does Pastrnak to the Blues look like? Other than pain? Lol

You've made this team significantly worse. Wouldn't mind the Bruins getting a little out of the box with some trades, but trading Pasta and signing Kadri are not ideal in any sense.

Anaheim isn't interested in getting older. We'll stay with the youngsters.

Laine signed yesterday, about an hour before Columbus trades Bjorkstrand to open up the cap room. Can’t see Columbus making that trade now.

Nah; if we trade Nyquist at this point, it's probably going to be for defensive help. We no longer need him to be a cap casualty; Bjorkstrand accepted that sacrifice already.

Yeah I didnt even know Bjorkstrand was moved already when I posted this. I personally would've kept him over Nyquist but understand that window has closed now

I think a lot of people would have, the market wasn’t there for nyquist and Columbus got screwed on the Bjorkstrand trade, oh well time to move on.

The only piece thats significantly younger is Drysdale. Terry is only a year and a half younger than Pasta. Not saying that ANH would do it but I think the values pretty on par. Maybe a nice sweetener goes back to ANH cuz of the gap between Carlo's and Drysdales age.

Brad Marchand almost decapitated Marcus Johansson and then came to the Bruins and they almost won a cup. Miss me with that petty stuff.

Unfortunately, it's one of those things people keep repeating for some bizarre reason, because there's no chance of it happening. And obviously, even less now.
