You mean Vegas, right? The Devils take that and run.

I can probably think of a thousand.

Is there any reason we wouldn't?

Surely you meant Vegas, right? Nobody can really be that dense to suggest the opposite 😅

Because Theodore is good and Smith is not?

I know right! Just an absolutely brutal trade for NJD and how dare Vegas offer that. To help out, Detroit will step in and accept that trade on NJ behalf, and then we will send you a few picks for Theo so you don’t have to worry about having a guy who is a top 4 D across the NHL.

I think CBJ pass. Danforth had good underlying numbers and I'm a fan of his upside, and there are questions about fitting Roy under the cap.

I would do that as cbj. Good young center for a journeyman we got for free. I think danforth is great but Roy is much better

Theodore is better than I realized last night, I guess I assumed he'd fallen off significantly. That said, if he's not still a legit number one defenseman, I just don't see where he slots into the Devils lineup after this year. We need a solid defensive player to partner with Hamilton, so Siegenthaler stays stapled to him. Hughes is the future of the team, so he is guaranteed top 4 minutes. This leaves Theodore as a third pair player. The Devils would be outbid for Theodore every time because they have neither the cap nor roster space to make use of his services.

Bruh. Even if you turned around and dealt him half value, this would still be an all time fleece.

We could find a spot for him.

Also, worth noting that Luke Hughes models his game off of Theodore and Heiskanen.

Yes indeed. Am thinking LAK and OTT have a little more ammo than Brendan Smith.
