mack trade

Description
I know no one wants to see it but if mack is asking for 12.5+ i don't see us being able to put forth a deep enough team to win again.
In this scenario we get a really good haul and columbus get a top center to play with laine and johnny
We get another prospect on D which we will need to give manson a break from top 4 mins in a year, sillinger looks like he could become a top 6 forward which gives us a bit more depth and could be a trade piece if needed, he can also be swapped with newhook. Roslovic gives us more depth upfront and the picks can be used to help fill the top C hole for a season. With 7 mil and now a bunch of futures and prospects i think we could land another top C and be a top contender by moving all the C down one line

    COL would have to take salary from CBJ. We don't have the cap space for him at $12.5M.

    And the value is probably right (assumming he comes with an extension), but not sure CBJ do this trade. Mack is astounding, obviously, but CBJ aren't one McKinnon away from being a Cup contender.

    I'd rather take my chances and try him on the FA market. Unless he wants to sign with BUF or AZ or something, there isn't going to be a ton of cap space while the flat cap still looms.

    And why would Columbus make this trade? They only have about $15,000,000 in cap space next summer to sign 6 players. And Nate MacKinnon eats a vast majority of that. Both parties pass.

    Lol a player's UFA rights are almost worthless. Maybe you get a third round pick for MacKinnon as a UFA

    This guy isnt trading MacKinnon. He is trading his UFA rights which are worth a mid round pick
