Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Erne, Adam
Additional Details:
First of all, thoI do think we could add more on Detroits side but just so people don’t get mad I’m making it a 1 for 1 trade but also Kerfoot does have a higher cap.
TRADE EXPLANATION FOR DETROIT: I think this is a good trade for Detroit I think adding someone like Kerfoot will be a good middle 6 penalty killer for them and I think Kerfoot is an upgrade over Erne.
DET
  1. Kerfoot, Alexander
Additional Details:
I really wish I could add a pick but this is going to be the only way to sign Sandin so it’s not a bad trade.
TRADE EXPLANATION FOR TORONTO: Obviously like I said the only way the leafs would do this trade is so we can sign Sandin, but Erne is a solid bottom 6 all around player and I feel it isn’t a bad trade for either team.
2.
TOR
  1. Compher, J.T. ($1,750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
TRADE EXPLANATION FOR TORONTO: J.T Compher is one of the one of the top breakout candidates for next season I feel he can take the leap and become a great Top 6 player and getting him retained 50% is great for the team. Also taking chances on kinda random players is what Dubas does example Kampf, Bunting, and the list can go on so I feel as soon as he gets to the leafs he’ll be a 50-60 point player.
COL
  1. Der-Arguchintsev, Semyon
  2. Gogolev, Pavel
  3. Holl, Justin
  4. 2024 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
TRADE EXPLANATION FOR COLORADO: Justin Holl, I think when he’s at his best he could be a solid top 4 defence-man but I think in Colorado he’ll be playing bottom pair or be the 7th defence-man. Next your getting 2 C+ prospects that can play within the next 3-5 years and also getting a late 2nd that who knows, could be a star.
3.
TOR
ARI
  1. Simmonds, Wayne

Adam Erne will be a healthy scratch on most nights, He might even be put on waivers to play in GR. Detroit has no opening for Kerfoot.

“Hey Colorado. Would you like to use cap space on your 7th D man so you can maybe get good players in 5 years? We also want Compher and expect you to retain

Just trade kerfoot away for picks I’m sure a team would take him, so then use that money to get a 4th line guy, and an extra defencemen cause a 22 man roster or even a 24 man roster would be great just case if they have injuries. I would also waive Clifford because he sucks.

I also don’t think avs would take that, well first of all I don’t think they would want to retain

Erne is actually pretty good but I respect that it could go either way. But Erne could be one of those Kampf type players as well and are really solid on the leafs.

Colorado has a right side of Makar, Manson, Johnson, and if they want Girard. Why would they trade for a RD

Unless Veleno starts out the season in Grand Rapids, That would be the only way Erne sees much playing time. And Veleno is waiver exempt for one more season. If he starts in GR then yeah Erne could see far more playing time on the 4th line.

Not to sure, they probably won’t. So then just turn that RD into a draft pick or another prospect then

I don't care for Kerfoot's game, and I DESPISE all the Toronto ACGMs that keep trying to jam a square peg into a round hole with him and expecting picks coming back. With that said, I don't care for Erne much either and this may be the first Kerfoot to Detroit trade I've seen on here that I'm ok with.

Still don't see it happening, but kudos to you for at least being reasonable with value

The problem is you need to look at needs. Colorado has 6 "top 4" Dmen. Why do they need a couple C+ prospects and a maybe good 7. We have some of those. We don't have a solid 2C. I like Newy but not really secure in him taking over yet. So that really only leaves three options - Landy, Mikko, or JTC. Next If Newy does workout at 2, JTC is and has been our 3C. Your idea just creates more holes in the lineup. McFar would be fired before his first season.

Your crazy if you don't think they'd take kerfoot for a 4th liner like Erne. They do it in a second. They'd find a place for him to play.

Compher and Erne would be great depth pickups, but the price on Compher will probably be more than that and Erne probably gets a pick considering Detroits logjam upfront

I don't know where we'd put Kerfoot. But Adam Erne is Steve YzERNEn's son. I have no use for Erne really. But I do know that Yzerman values him much higher than anyone else does.

Tell me where? He's definitely not going top 6 barring any injuries. I doubt he gets 3rd line minutes over Kubalik and Zadina so we're basically putting a $3,500,000 per forward on the 4th line. Sorry don't see it and Kerfoot isn't an Yzerman type player anyways this has already been discussed to death.

He's way better than kubalik, hell he'd be a better center than suter on the third line. I'm not gonna pass up a free player. As not being an Yzerman kinda guy I don't see where you get that. He can play pp or kill penalties and play multiple positions up and down the line up. He's a Swiss army knife guy who puts up 40 pts a season. Plus you can flip him at the deadline for probably a 2nd rounder. You really would rather have Adam Erne.

I mean that’s completely ridiculous for COL to do, Compher is the most valuable piece this season and why in the world would they ever retain salary trying to defend the Cup.

The guy clearly isn’t familiar with Kerfoot.

I’d take that trade a billion times out of 100 and I’d even add if necessary. But for just another $1.5m you upgrade from Erne to Kerfoot, very easy decision.

How do you get to the logic with the Avs trade? Maybe they’re willing to trade Compher, maybe. But if they were:

- they’re not retaining on anybody
- they don’t need C prospects who might crack the lineup in 3-5 years
- they don’t need another D, especially if the logic is to let Holl sit as 7D. Essentially makes it a useless add and only helps leafs from cap perspective while hurting Avs cap.

Just trade kerfoot away for picks

Actually, if you trade Kerfoot + a 3rd or 4th rounder to Arizona for someone like Nick Bjugstad wouldn't that solve the problem?
