-I think Florida buys out Bob's contract before they do any kind of deal that has them attaching Anton Lundell to move him.
-I don't think the upgrade from Compher to Toews right now is enough for Colorado to give up the 2023 1st. Compher put up 18-15-33 last year with solid defensive numbers; Toews put up 12-25-37 with bad defense.
-Sure, if you were trading Compher with full retention, a 2nd would be fair.
-Easy no from Minnesota. Not only is there not enough of a jump from Dumba to Jones to justify giving up the 1st, I can't see Minnesota willingly taking 8x$9M of Jones - I'd assume that they're letting Dumba walk this summer because of their cap crunch, and adding a player $3M more expensive runs kinda counter to that. Plus, y'know, Seth Jones has a full NMC and I don't know if he's all that interested in waiving in the first year of his 8 year extension.
-Sure, Matt Dumba fully retained could be worth a 1st, I guess. But just like JT Compher up there, I don't think the trades you made to get these guys go through, so you don't have those assets to trade.
Also - you can only retain on 3 contracts simultaneously. So at least 2 of these trades get nixed if the team acquiring the player is dependent on retention; either that, or you're involving a 3rd team to eat that cap and losing some value on your return.
