Description
I can forsee the Blackhawks being historically bad, pray they win the draft lottery so this season isnt a complete waste.

What if they are so bad that Kane has no one to pass too and has career lows approaching the deadline.

I am already preparing for a disappointing return on Kane. I fear there is no one on this team that can play at Kanes level. People will say hes regressing.

No one on offence stood out in the Colorado game.

Roos and Regula each had two very nice plays where they contained MacKinnon entering the offensive zone at full speed, then separated him from the puck. Small victories.

81 games left.

fair enough.

Watching the game last night it looks like Colorado can survive without the smooth skating Girard.

The problem with moving Kane on this site is his salary and people expect hawks to be compensated for taking back salary. I don't see that happening teams will be willing to pay a fair price for him but not paying an extra arm and a leg to make the cap work.

I would be happy with any of these returns, but after the poor return on debrincat and how terrible chicago looks the price might be half of this at the deadline.

I don't see us giving up Ridly ++ for a year of Kane.

you can sign Kane for the extra year in the offseason and give him an 8 year extension wink

PLUS

Ottawa still owes Chicago from the Debrincat trade..

Yeah, against Chicago. Not much of a hurdle there.

Kane is considered the greatest US-born NHLer. He's a first-ballot Hall of Famer, without question.
They're all good returns, yes, but at those prices, Chicago will have arguably gotten a higher return for Brandon Hagel than for Kane.
For a talent of Kane's level, even at his age and contract, the return should be seismic. These aren't.

nah, the age and contract has to play a role here. tampa paid a premium for hagel because of the age, contract and term. these are all pretty premium returns for kane. the reality is he’s a rental. look at what philly got for giroux, these are all better than that (aside from maybe the edmonton deal). they feel pretty fair

As far hawks retaining 50% of Kane's contract most likely the cost would be a 2023 2nd. So Dufour 1st 2023 2023 2nd or another prospect. If a team wants a bad contract going back then the trade is expanded and go from there.

I'd say Islanders accept... but... We do have an older team, and I don't know if Lou would be willing to give up our future for Kane.
Now I'm not putting down Patrick Kane at all (He's in my top 5 favorite players of all time) but with how Lou has been operating the team for the past 4 years, I think he would give a different package for him.

But if it was me, I'd say include a prospect coming back to us and i'd include a 3rd or 4th pick with that

It will be proven they were right to be so stubborn about Greig

Also, going after Kane is totally not what the Sens need to do

They signed a RW veteran already and his name is Claude Giroux.
