San Jose isn’t doing that Buffalo deal, not enough talent coming back in the trade.

Why do you think Karlsson at 10 million dollars is worth that much

And there is absolutely zero chance Detroit accepts that trade.

Because he’s on pace for 111 points

He's not gonna hit that + he's a massive injury risk + he's signed until he's 37 at that contract. Point being, he has negative value.

EK65 hasn’t played 60 games since he arrived in San Jose five years ago. Hard to see him getting anything close to this in a trade unless San Jose retains bigger chunk of that contract.

It's ok, they can drop Reimer from the deal

Until he gets hurt and misses a large part of the season.

You must be kidding if you think his value is anywhere close to that. Why did you not ask for Seider and Raymo d also. Not to be mean but that is a joke deal.

I mean no way Detroit does that. Katlsson looking good is a nice story but let's not get to crazy.

I didn’t make the team, I was saying why someone would think his value is that high. If he keeps it up the whole season is absolutely worth that. Just too much uncertainty right now.

Yes he’s an injury risk but if he’s consistent all year and there’s retention($1.5 mil/year) he is absolutely not a negative asset. I don’t care the cap hit, someone who puts up 100 points in a season is not a negative asset

There is no scenario where Erik Karlsson is worth anything close to that value. I don't care if he scores 111 points (which he won't). No one's giving you anything even close that offer and I won't even go into the fact that no one can even afford him and his ridiculous contract. You have no leverage so unless you want to dump him or eat half his salary then you're stuck with your GMs stupid mistake.

So by this logic, EK is worth 2 1sts, a second, a third, a number 3 or 4 D, and a 22 year old NHL regular who has underperformed but may have some upside lol. Stick to making terrible Leaf deals and leave the Wings alone.
