Woof...can you make an honest case for any of these trades? Domi is the best option you have as who knows what CHI values guys.

A good prospect and a 1st round pick for a UFA that NJ is likely to lose for nothing. and people say Leaf fans over value players. FLA takes the Marner trade in a heartbeat, the Reimer trade is probably an overpay on the leafs part.

In what possible way is that an overpayment by the leafs. Reimer is worth way more than a third, a cap dump that the Sharks would absorb when Murray is healthy, and a 23 year old whos yet to break into the NHL and isn't producing at the AHL level.

Devils: Currently rolling and actually wants to make the playoffs. The nothing may be that playoff run. If the Devils find their next Siegs or Marino, sure, but teams aren't here to be a Leafs farm system.

I would love to see FLA fans who want that trade...Tkachuk long term or a few years of Marner who is mentally weak right now.

SJS: Why would they take on Murray and free you of that mistake? Nothing else of real value there to even make up for that mistake, let alone what Reimer is worth.

I'm just here to laugh about NJ making the playoffs. Let's talk in March

Sharks instantly decline this the second you mention Murray.

Florida declines. Also can’t afford it.

Chicago isn't trading Domi for a 3rd as other teams will gladly pay a 2nd at 50% retained or better based on the way he's been playing this season.

Florida also tells Toronto to go pound sand on that offer even if Marner's cap hit was equal to Tkachuk's, which of course it's not.

That Marner for Tkachuk trade seems like a real stretch, why would Florida agree to that?

Because its my ACGM and I want them to. I also don't see how it's much of a stretch at all. 104 pts in 82 games vs 97 in 72 games last year, Marner is also an elite PK player. Maybe Matt would be happy to be closer to his brother

The third doesnt cover the cap dump costs of Murray. the "Prospect" is not an even exchange for Reimer

Term, the fact that MT chose which team he wanted to spend the next decade of his life, the impact MT has in the physicality department, contract AAV.

Correct me if im wrong, but there's no trade protection in this contract

Pretty sure that is correct, at least for a few years. Tkachuk wanted to go to Florida, and held a lot of the cards. A 24 year old who is now set at 9.5M until he is 32. Florida gave up a lot to get him, so in a one for one swap, you need to go back and ask if they would have traded JH, Weegar, etc. for Marner instead.

- Based on age, maybe since Marner is similar in age.
- Based on stat production, you showed the two have similar numbers, so maybe. I would personally argue Marner had somewhat inflated numbers (not like he would fall off a cliff without AM, but a 60+ goal scorer and potentially the future best American born goal scorer ever helps).
- Based on contract length, no. MT was extended, Marner would have had three full seasons before deciding what to do after. Unless the Panthers said “3 years to win or burn it all to the ground,” they brought in an 8 year top three forward.
- Based on AAV, no. Marner is already over 10 million and due for a raise unless he declines significantly (hard to see happening). Tkachuk is locked in under 10 barring chaos changing something.
- Based on intangibles, no. Especially now considering everyone is up in arms that MM needs to go based on attitude and other factors. MT also has his baggage based on his play, but Florida doesn’t have the scrutiny on their players in the same way Toronto does.

Obviously, like you said you just wanted this for your ACGM team which is fair. There are definitely points to be made that can make it somewhat realistic. However, to say that Florida takes this and runs is neglecting numerous factors that don’t support your side.
