    1. Toews is worth no where near a first plus Niemela
    2. Since when did 25% retention cost a B prospect a third and a fourth ?

Winnipeg has no incentive to help Toronto out and give Gagner away for nothing.

Bad trades. Leafs are keeping Knies, Hirvonen and Niemela. And they're not giving away Malgin for free after his strong start.

Chychrun isn't the answer. He is too injury prone. And Toews costs too much.

    Leafs love injury prone guys.

Calgary doesn't need or want Malgin, pay us to take him or look elsewhere

Why would the Jets give Leafs Gagner for a 4rd? I don't follow.

Pay you to take a good two-way bottom 6 guy who is an RFA after this season, also he makes league minimum NO ONE PAYS TO MOVE THAT

Also why are we getting rid of malign he’s been good in the bottom 6, the 4th line finally has some identity with

Maybe before his hot start. A 2nd doesn't get toews right now. If he keeps scoring he'll easily get a 1st.

Whoa lmao....guy is playing really well and continuing his pace from the last third of the season last year after spending the first 2/3rds trying to find his legs following a year in bed. 7 goals, 9 points in 12 games, top 5 at the dot, defensively looks great.....he's worth more then just a 2nd with retention

Hard to blame him for that. As much as WAR attempts to extract an individual player from the rest of the guys on the ice, it's been proven over and over that it's impossible in hockey so while WAR has some value, it hardly stands on it's own as a good way to evaluate a player as every scout in the game will tell you.
