Buffalo, who are going through an identity change, and a positive one at that, have no reason to get rid of this guy who is a big reason for it.

Yea buffalo's not moving him. Solid player playing well on their best line, from around Buffalo, wants to be there and has been a major influence in the culture change. In the running to be the next captain.

Basically the cost would be equal to whatever you think marner is worth. So essentially no, he's not for sale.

Nope. Buffalo isn’t gonna sell off Tuch
And if we were, the cost wouldn’t be:
-a late 1st, not great value
-a late 3rd, basically useless
-a decent prospect, but we don’t need another offensive Dman
-and Kerfoot is a Cap dump

Not only are these pieces substandard, they’re mostly futures
We already have a loaded prospect pool & a bunch of picks
And we’re trying to start winning now
So moving Tuch for a bunch of pieces just doesn’t make any sense at all for us

And it’s not even the “price” that’s the issue
It’s that the overall idea just wouldn’t make sense for us

well now that's a stretch. Tuch's not on Marner's level and not worth the same, but he's not being moved for anything short of a historic overpay no doubt.

To buffalo he is. He's not as talented as marner obviously, but he's a huge leader who's producing very well and at a much smaller cap hit.

in a vacuum the value isnt horrible, but is probably light by a good prospect at least. The main issue is that Tuch is young, good and pretty cheap for what he brings and fits Buffalo's current development window well, especially with his current contract. He'd cost a premium just to get them to think about moving him

Not a chance in hell. That wouldnt be enough for Tuch even if he wasnt a hometown guy. Toronto is high on Niemelä, but he isnt what Buffalo needs, his stock also peaked last year and is currently regressing, and I personally think Liiga is very overrated. Sabres arent selling anyway

Tuch is not as good of a player as Marner, but he is playing at a PPG pace, as well as costing less than half of what Marner does. Value wise, they probably aren’t too far off when accounting for the contracts.

What your saying is his value to Buffalo is the same as Marner is to the leafs? You do know player wise they aren't close though.

Not exactly.
Tuch is more valuable to the Sabres than Marner would be to the Sabres.
That may be hyperbolic as we do not know how much Mitch would help the Sabres.
We do know that both Skinner and Thompson are much better when they play with Tuch.

Now Marner has made ever player he's played with better. Kadri, Tavares and Matthews all had career years in goals the first full season they played with Marner.
