Sorry but Detroit has no use for Ekholm, And we sure aren't giving up 2023 2nd round picks when we're not even going to make the playoffs. Ekholm doesn't make us any better than what LD we've coming up the pipeline, Like Edvinsson, Johansson, Sebrango, Wallinder.

No chance Nashville trades Ekholm for that, but Detroit isn't a good trade partner for him anyways. With that said, if you want to give him to us, with retention, for 2nd round picks, we'll gladly accept, then turn around and immediately trade him for a 1st+ at that caphit

I’m no expert on Detroit’s pipeline, and I’ve heard about how bad Chiarot is. Maybe a better trade would be Chiarot + a ‘24 1st for Ekholm?

Canes probably take that but the issue is they only have $1.6m in LTIR space they can make…and they really need a depth defenseman not a forward.

We’re not in a position to trade for a 32 year old LHD and give up high draft picks BUT I’ll take that trade 1000x out of 1000 for the red wings. That is some nasty retention that we will gladly accept.

Did you just completely ignore the entire part where I said Detroit is not a trade partner? We're not buyers.

NSH loses, at minimum, 80% of these trades based on value.

If the Sens 1st is lottery protected I'd do that. Otherwise I would only do it once we know where they stand in the draft.

No way I'm trading a shot at Bedard for Saros.

Getting a top five pick from OTT is the only chance NSH has of not getting completely hosed in any of these deals.

1. Detroit has the best prospect pipeline in the entire league on LD with Edvinsson, Johansson, Viro, Buium, Sebrango, Wallinder, and McIsaac.
2. Detroit has five waiver eligible LD on the current roster.
3. Detroit is not a buyer this year.

The chance of Detroit trading for a LD is smaller than my dog starting to talk and he's been dead for twenty years.

Poile isn't retaining on any of these guys if he traded them with this much term left.

Detroit does not need to trade 2 ND round pics for another aging left D on a long expensive contract, even with retention.

That's worse. Detroit is not a realistic trade partner here.
