Blues aren't trading for Reimer, they certainly aren't trading 2 3rds for Reimer.

The blues goaltending hasn't been near as big of an issue as it looks on paper. Greiss isn't great, but Binnington honestly has played pretty well despite his stat sheet. The defense has been god awful in front of him. 9/10 goals that he lets in he doesn't stand a chance.

So if the struggling sub-890 SP% Binnington goes down you want to ride Griess in the playoffs? Lol. Riemer is a great goalie 1a 1b goalie to have. with over a 900 SP% every year of his career.

You don't have the comps for that return you're suggesting Meier fetches, especially without an extension attached.
The 1st rd pick would likely have to be removed in its entirety.

Bold of you to assume the Blues are making the playoffs.
The WC race in the west is very tight.

Whilst Hertl would be nice and all the Avs can't afford to add that kind of cap hit and lose those pieces so they decline.

So you made the trade on if a player goes down. And you chose the blues randomly. Well why not say so in the first place lol.

COL isn’t doing that for a number of reasons one of which is they don’t want Hertl’s contract and to pay him till he is 37, when in that time frame Makar and Rantanen will need new deals.

I don’t see how trading half your top 6 will make SJ a dark horse next year. That labanc trade is terrible for San Jose. Don’t see Hertl getting moved for a while

(sigh)

First of all, if Binnington gets hurt, we're not making the playoffs. And that's because Binnington isn't struggling - you should watch games instead of reading stats.

Agreed but he has value again, and he's getting a way worse player and a low pick back.
Sharks could get a decent return from Labanc with like 750k retention.

But if we were really trying to be competitive next year, why trade him and Hertl?

We just extended Hofer, he has like a .920+ This season. He’s our plan for backup and possibly 1a/1B down the road. I gaurantee you he gets a shot before we look for external help.

People on here don't like to do that, Ducks fans go through the same thing with Gibson on a weekly basis. Clearly the stats speak the whole truth and our goalies are washed up AHL caliber players.

Too much for Meier. If you're getting Holtz and a 1st, you're not getting anything else.

No he doesn’t he has 23 points in his last 30 games, which is when they actually put him in the top 6

We need players with more grit and toughness - perfect time to trade with those points

Watch around TD day - teams get desperate - 1st Holtz and something else even a 2nd

So you trade a top 6 player for a 4th liner? Sure trade him but don’t give him away

Kuraly has 8 goals, Labanc has 10 lol. labanc also never stands out, just puts up points here and there, as he has a good shot.
Kuraly also had 14 goals last year, and provides grit if the sharks do get younger and more skilled. Labanc is VERY replaceable
