The asking price for Chychrun is reportedly a 1st and a quality young prospect or roster player. If the Kings were willing to give up this haul for a LHD, they'd trade a 1st and Vilardi to Arizona for Chychrun.

Kings need someone more solid defensively, and they would also be in on the Chychrun, so I don't know how you would facilitate this trade if the Kings were your competition for Chychrun.

I heard it was 2 firsts and a prospect just recently. Has it gone down?

Chabot signed longer at good cap hit than Chych, even tho for the next 2 year chych is lower cap hit after that will be 8M to 9.5M, figured kings would go with cap certainty over uncertainty and price is 2 first + for chych or he would have been traded if it was just 1 first and a prospect/roster player.

Last reported, it was two firsts or a first and a prospect/young roster player, plus minor pieces on both sides as needed based on expected draft position and/or player/prospect quality.

From Friedman's 32-Thoughts podcast earlier this month.

Friedman: “Jakob Chychrun is doing what he needs to do to be traded since returning to the lineup. The Coyotes want two first-round picks plus package whether it is two first-round picks or the kind of prospect that basically equals a first-round pick."

If they need scoring help they shouldn’t be subtracting their 23 YO top pair D who happens to be one of the best goal scoring D in the NHL and runs their PP. You don’t trade RHD for wingers

They trade Dobson and they go into next season with Ryan Pulock & Grant Hutton as the only RHD in the organization with NHL experience. It's like fixing one hole in a sinking ship by blasting a hole on the other side.

I wouldn't do any of those trades.
Chabot is not worth moving for that return, even if the Kinga would agree with it.

He better check his insider again.

The problem with all these Chych for 2 1sts + top d prospect trades [which this isn't even] is that Zona doesn't replace his value either way in their timeline to rebuild. They will most likely have a really nice playoff team next year and an even better team in '25 with or without Matthews for a cup run because they'll have Bedard/Fant/top tier C with their other blue chip forwards. Chych + Ghost have been a league leading top pair playing on a shallow team. Yotes should resign and keep that top pair nice n cheap with Vej 1G and ELCs Bedard, Cooley, Guenther, Geekie. They can spend to the cap and have in the past when the team was better. If you disagree, put the actual future team together and see for yourself.

This and most other offers don't replace his value in that equation. He most likely isn't traded and they both will be happy by the end of his deal about it... most likely.

Trades :

#1- I'm not doing that as Ottawa (Sens can't afford to trade Chabot for futures. Vilardi is also not needed)
#2- I'm not doing that as NYI
#3- I'm not doing that as Ottawa

I'd buy the team then hire new management who would hire new coaching staff before I do any of that (except Dobson if possible but no chance Isles agree to it)
