-Parise's on track for 20+ goals and makes the league minimum. You're gonna have to offer more than waiver wire chum and a 7th rounder (next year, to boot) if you want him, this deal just isn't even trying.
-No logic for Florida to do this deal. Hornqvist is currently on LTIR and actually helping them ice their full team right now - not only does this take away that LTIR cushion, but you have them actively making their cap situation worse by retaining about half his deal - and for what, a depth winger in Joey Anderson and a pair of late round picks? Easy pass for the Panthers.
-Domi probably gets a 2nd or a 3rd with full retention; if you have to include Alex Kerfoot to help the cap situation I think adding the extra pick helps (this basically adds $5M to Chicago's payroll so a 3rd is fair value). Not sure if this makes the Leafs better, though.
-Voracek is probably LTIRetired; the last reporting on his concussion was from early December and gave a "slim" chance for him to come back this year. Columbus has no reason to move him, and won't move him for an AHL/NHL tweener like Gaudette if they were going to.
-This is some peak "quantity over quality" trading right here. Engvall, Simmonds, and ZAR are bottom-6 pending UFAs - or, in other words, minimal to no value assets that you're just piling up to make the package look more impressive. The real meat here is Minten, Niemela, Robertson, & the 1st - and I just don't think it's enough for the Wings to trade a year and a half of a 55-60 point guy in Perron plus their potential best trade chip in Bertuzzi with full retention. I'd bet you could get Bertuzzi for the 1st and one of Niemela/Minten if you really wanted him, but that's the best I can see out of this package.
