with Vranas year, him passing through waivers, and the reports that he wont ever play for detroit again, i think detroit would have to add a pick here

Does Asplund need a change of scenery or is he just unable to adapt to and flourish in the North American Game!?

No he’s adapted well. Good AHL seasons got Selke votes last season. I think he’s probably going to get traded or not get a qualifying offer this summer.

I'm sure BUF and CHI could work something out around McCabe, but that ain't it.

The Sabres don't have a need for a project forwards and Olofsson is actually a useful player, so I don't see why they do that

Asplund seems to excel in international play but nothing really stands out in terms of his AHL & NHL Play thus far

He might be worth the gamble for a late pick but CGY’s pretty set with Left Shot Forwards already.

Sabres are in no position to take risk at Vrana.
McCabe would be fine, but I would prefer to use 2023 1st on trade, and all three 2nds on drafting defensive prospectes.

Asplund do need change of scenery, and he would be perfect for teams like Tampa or Colorado - just eating ice time on 4th line and PK.

Wings aren't attaching anything to get rid of Vrana, zero interest in olofsson

Hawks decline. Bryson is not the type of player they want, and they have young D men in the AHL (Vlasic, Phillips, Regula) who need NHL ice time if McCabe is moved.

i agree with your second statement, but in regards to the first; he was passed on waivers and evidently has soured on the red wings and they dont want him back on the team. if thats truly the case, youd be lucky to get value for him

      K. So I looked. Olofsson has 238gm 78g 78a 156p. Vrana has 323gm 98g 91a 189pts. On a per game basis, olofsson has more goals (.32/.30), more assists (.32/.28), and more points (.66/.59) per game. Yes vrana has 87 even strength goals and only 11 power play goals. I'm fine keeping olofsson.

He was a top 20 selke finalist last year. Sabres decided to claim jost and between him excelling, the kids sticking and granato refusing to rotate out the vets, asplund is the odd guy out. Just because he doesn't score doesn't mean he isn't useful

Sabers say no, Vrana is this years Evander Kane. There s rumors in Detroit that they are not bringing him back and that he might be bought out and or go to the KHL. So if Detroit does trade him it's going to be as a cap dump or clear a roster spot. If GMs wanted him they would have claimed him on waivers

And I’m sure that you overvalue McCabe
      You aren’t getting a 1st
And you aren’t getting a 2nd AND a good prospect
If u want the good prospect, then it won’t be a 2nd that comes with
