Buffalo and it isn't close. UPL is big time outplaying Demko and is younger. They also aren't moving a first unless it's for a top pair RD imo

No way, Vancouver says no. Demko is worth way more than people think. Controlled $$, Van D was so bad it hurt him.
I would only trade Demko if we get a great return. Buffalo will be drafting in the 20's in the near future.

Realistic:
Levi or Luukkonen, Peyton Krebs, 1st Rd (2023) and 2nd Rd (2024)
FOR
Demko and Schenn

Buffalo counters with Girgensons, Ostlund, and a Vegas' second for Pettersson and Schenn

Nice one. You can tell who understand hockey. Demko has way more value than you think. Trust me.

For Demko, I think he will undoubtedly rebound, but right now, you’d might have to pay to get rid of rim. Not a lot of good teams who can afford him would be can afford a struggling goaltender. It’s a gamble for the acquiring team. Not a good time for Vancouver to sell, but it wouldn’t be to Buffalo, they’re more than happy with UPL and Anderson

For Schenn, to be honest, I think Schenn is going to get a surprising return. Most have him priced as a second. I would not be surprised if he got a a first. I think he will get multiple picks, maybe a couple seconds, maybe a second and third. His salary makes him extremely appealing to multiple teams; he’s a fit almost anywhere, and everyone could use a player like him. He’s going to be in high demand.

I don't watch Buff enough to know if 6K is good or not but based on these reactions I'll agree Buffalo probably says no here.

Thinking Demko would be a cap dump is absolute bannanalands though. I understand goalies are weird and agree they might as well just hang onto him.

Need someone behind him that isn't Bush/Joki but just my opinion. To each their own

Awesome. I'll trust the guy on capfriendly who's telling me who in the NHL has value. Do you not see the irony here?

Buffalo passes very easily. UPL is still only 23 and has put up better numbers than Demko this year; Schenn is RD3 on the Sabres and I don't think there's any argument against that. Any advantage that Demko's term brings is negated by the fact that the Sabres have UPL's rights for at least 4 more years as well, and even if you combined his cap hit this year & next year, it would still be barely 1/3 of Demko's yearly AAV - so, Demko is technically older, signed to a more expensive deal, and has been significantly worse than Luukkonen this season. Buffalo adding a 1st here is just a weird use of assets for them.

If you're trading for Demko, you're trading for him on the hope that he bounces back and becomes the guy he was last year - something he hasn't shown yet this season. If Vancouver put him on the market right now, they'd be selling low on him, and this trade definitively isn't it - GMs are loathe to pay 1st rounders for goalies. Any GM that gives up a 1st for a guy who's currently rocking a sub-.900 SV% (oh, and is injured) would be under a huge microscope every time Demko had a game where he gives up 4 goals on 21 shots.

Your quote “UPL is totally outplaying Demko and is younger”
Really, that’s your insight. You should be so excited about your team. Buffalo has an amazing future with great draft depth. Adding Demko would be huge for Buffalo and the can afford it without really impacting your team.

I dont think its a fit, Demko was hurt all year, you could see it in his body language, I dont think he actually pulled anything, I think that it was just "ok this is it, I need to take time off now as I need to heal up"

Dear VAN fans,

1- Buffalo doesn’t want Demko, we are no longer looking for a goalie- UPL has been good for us

2- Demko is hurt & has played poorly this season- i wouldn’t give you ONE of those pieces you propose for him, let alone both…. that’s just laughable bud

You guys ABSOLUTELY will not get the kind of return for Demko that you want- not unless he gets healthy & plays like his old self for a significant amount of time

And even then, Buffalo would still pass
As i said, we are no longer looking for a goalie

So PLEASE just stop proposing ANY & ALL trades with Buffalo

Sorry to be harsh
But it’s HIDEOUS proposal after proposal from u guys,
where u have us WILDLY overpaying for guys we wouldn’t even have interest in

So again, PLEASE, just finally another team to trade with
THE SABRES ARE NOT INTERESTED

No thanks
Not at the insane price u want for him
We’re happy with UPL/Anderson/Comrie
Not gonna MASSIVELY OVERPAY for a hurt goalie that’s played like crap this season
ZERO INTEREST AT ALL

All good. We can trade with other teams. Buffalo has done it right but they still need a RD.
Cheers
