So if the Motte trade was what CBJ was waiting for then Gavrikov move incoming

Also Rangers are over the cap rn so something else must be happening

Not saying I promote it but if NSH wants Byfield u explore that. As its not every day one of the best goaltenders becomes available and u get 2 more seasons with him


I think it'll be a cold day in hell before Byfield is traded. LA will live and die with him. Personally, I would explore that deal, especially if they could somehow get rid of Cal in the process.

U could include Pete in the Nashville pkg as Nashville will need a goalie. Will cost more but hey if all works Nashville gets Byfield, a useable goalie, and draft picks

LAK get 2 years of Saros who they could extend

As rn the window's open for LAK and with Saros they could be a serious threat in the pacific.

Did you really just use FO % and +/- to make an argument about how good a player is defensively ? Lol. Both have 0

Pettersson is a young superstar, he could get 12 mill x 8 and he’d still be worth it.

I don't think they did. The argument they seem to be making isn't that he's not good defensively, just that he's unlikely to win the Selke due to those stats. It wouldn't surprise me if Pettersson finished lower in Selke voting than he should because certain voters value those stats.

I don’t think voters value FO% at all when discussing a players defensive impact

Do we actually know that these two trades are related or was that just speculation?

Apparently CBJ was waiting on something to happen before Gav is to be moved. Motte was traded an hour ago so got to think thats what was being waited for no

Could also be a coincidence. We're close to the deadline, so not completely crazy that there could be a completely different transaction they are waiting on.

Considering how often guys who are good in the dot get hyped up as good defensively even when they're average by writers, I'd be surprised if the same bias didn't leak into the voting. Guess we'll see when the voting happens and the results are released.

Really curious how much is SJS asking for Meier

As if Toronto and NYR went for Tarasenko and ROR clearly the price is more than we are all thinking

Like im starting to wonder if its 2 1sts + A level prospect and other stuff

I don't know why those deals would be connected. Because Ottawa isnt gonna trade assets for a rental, and the rangers took on more cap in the deal so why would this deal be correlated to the Gavrikov deal.

Seems more likely that Chychrun would be going to Ottawa but I doubt that too.

If I had to geuss the deal/ transaction being waited on is either Puljijarvi being moved or Mike Reilly being moved.

He should get votes and be in the running, whether he will be or not is a different story. If not it's likely for the reasons you pointed out.
