He's a blue jacket for life imo. Shouldn't go anywhere else unless it's a trip to his childhood team at the end of his career. It won't be worth acquiring him since he's more valuable to a rebuilding team like he's on now. Think that's what you're trying to say. Those players can be easily overvalued by their team

There are only a handful of players in the league that aren't available at the right price. You won't convince me that Jenner is in that category. I fully believe you that it would take a helluva offer. But if a team steps up with something that truly helps the BJs, they'd be dumb to say no.

If this is anywhere close to the ask on those players, every team is better off being blocked by Jarmo.

I get it: there are players that have more inherent value to their own team than they would have in a trade. But a package like this for a guy who would be the 5/6 best forward in Colorado (behind MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Nuke, and probably Lehkonen)? That’s an astoundingly homer take.

That's the key here, "something that truly helps the BJs". People on CF keep throwing their B wing prospects and 2024 or 2025 1st/2nd round picks out as offers for him and that doesn't help the Jackets at all. What the Jackets need is a stable leadership presence that will help their young players grow into great pros. So essentially they need a Boone Jenner. The only thing that could outweigh what Jenner provides for the team right now is a blue chip top 6C prospect that they could pretty much just insert into their lineup today. They've already got all the wingers they could possibly need for the next several years, they've got left and right D prospects coming out of everywhere and they've got Elvis signed long term with Tarasov ready to come up after Korpisalo is traded. Top 6 centers are their only major want at the moment and they're looking like they have a strong chance of getting one in the draft this summer already too. There's just not a whole lot of motivation to be had for the Jackets to trade away Boone Jenner when he wants to be in Columbus and they want him in Columbus and he provides so much for them on such an affordable contract.

Hence this trade offer.
